Two Tempo Records LPs - TS 1017 and T 1021
« on: August 01, 2025, 11:02:20 PM »
I was thinking of sharing these two LPs here, but since LMT has deprecated the Non-Library section, I don't know where to put them, so I'm posting them here in the Vintage Library section, since these LPs are re-issues of library material. If I'm breaking a rule here, I'm very sorry. Anyways, these two LPs are special, due to the fact that these LPs have several rare cues from Mozart Edition, mainly from Orchestra Raphaele, conducted by Peter Walden. TS 1017 is a stereo LP, while T 1021 is actually a mono version. A stereo version of T 1021 exists (TS 1021), but sadly, I do not have that in my collection as of now. I actually got one more Tempo Records LP coming later, being TS 1013 - Waltzing Violins. I could share it here when it gets here, but that depends if this post would get removed or not.

TS-1017 - The Small Hours Of Paris
This LP features mainly cues by Bobby Gutesha and his Orchestra and Emmerich Smola and his Orchestra, but features at least one cue from Orchestra Raphaele (Conducted by Peter Walden) and Armand Bernard and his Orchestra as well. For some reason, despite that LP says its in stereo, the Jack Dieval cues are actually in mono.

T-1021 - Desire
This LP, named after the Rudolf Maluck cue on this LP, features 10 pieces, like the last LP, but unlike the last LP, all of the cues are by Orchestra Raphaele, conducted by Peter Walden. There is a stereo version of this LP, but I don't have that version.

Thanks for these, very interesting - virtually no copies seem to have made it to the UK either, so this is probably my only chance of getting to hear them!

Some of the other stuff on the label looks interesting too, I suspect the Seeburg 1000 background music system may have raided the Tempo catalogue in the 1960s.

Many thanks for these rarities, WSBG! The "Desire" Raphale tracks are especially enchanting.

Thank you very much for these rare shares WSBG. I don't think your post would be taken down since it does feature genuine library tracks.

Interesting that TS 1017 features some tracks from Mozart Edition MELP 050 and also retained the original titles for them. The remainder are new to me. The same goes for all tracks on T 1021 assuming they, too retained the original titles. When I have more time I'll go through the BBC Test Card listings and see if any of theme feature which could fill some gaps in our knowledge - unless Tony or JohnFred get there before me!!  ;)

Thank you WSBG, I had a pleasant time this morning listening to "Desire".
I'm wondering if some of these Tempo releases were used as background music onboard of TWA flights back in the days, considering what I read on 1017 front cover.
