Four last pre-1996 tracks
« on: Today at 02:12:38 AM »
Hello, just wanted to upload four last tracks to be identified from 1995 and before (actually, three of them are likely late '80s tracks). While these tracks have been uploaded before, I include slightly longer tracks when a source is available.

Missing track 144, used starting 1990: https://youtu.be/Tdte5QJB934
I've sure I've heard this one in general purpose commercials in the early '90s. Firstcom?

Missing track 45, used starting 1991: https://youtu.be/YtY3koLckhk
I'd be guessing at the origin of this one -- MIGHT be AirCraft, but if so, I may have overlooked it.

Missing track Who's Hot, Who's Not, used starting 1991: https://youtu.be/NN9TTDP1BZQ
Sounds to me like in this clip, they re-start the track halfway through. It may serve as a bridge for a longer song. No clue as to the publisher.

Missing track 98, used starting 1996: https://youtu.be/HO0F1Gv1Q18
Couldn't hazard a guess about this one.

At this point, I believe all of these tracks and albums -- and possibly the labels releasing them -- are discontinued / out of circulation. If anybody can identify these tracks and upload the full track, I'd appreciate it!

Missing Who's Hot Who's Not    I don't remember much.

Missing 144 I'll stick with my previous answer
I've definitely heard of it and I don't recall it being taken off the shelves and discontinued

It's just that the sound quality of your sample is so bad, if you had a clearer one maybe you could recognize it with shazam or some software.

Thanks, ChunYinZi! I was thinking that those two were never going to be identified.

Agreed regarding track 144--I have two poor quality, short samples taken from video recorded in 1990 for those, and the new file is the result of my grafting them together, then trying to use my own tools and those online to punch it up enough to have a shot at identifying it. I honestly believe that my best shot for that one is to find an unrelated commercial or promo which also uses that track, then to submit that. I just can't remember exactly what that track was used for when I heard it previously!

I had a feeling about FC-A40; I haven't heard the whole album, and it was going to be the next one that I was going to ask Retromatic for once I could make another donation or rip the CDs I have for him! So that's where the elusive track 98 came from, eh? Day by Day, also used, also came from the same album.
