I may regret asking this, but what do you mean by "twinned tapes"? Only I haven't been able to find any link between the tapes you mention. For instance Bill Bailey and The Fifth Day feature completely different content. And according to the TCC website Bill Bailey was broadcast on BBC1 from Nov 1976 to Nov 1977 and The Fifth Day was broadcast on BBC2 from Dec 1976 to May 1978. Similarly with Melancholic Rock (BBC1 Jul 1978-Nov 1979) and The Theme From Zed (BBC2 Jul-Nov 1978). Also Finally Swing Time and Prelude And Fugue In D both broadcast on BBC1. The former broadcast Jul 1977-Feb 1979 the latter Aug 1977-Dec 1985 though I think it continued to be broadcast beyond then. What am I missing?

Probably the best tape the Beeb produced:

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=x80BvWwIMtY Go to 31:52 and 49:34 for the highlights
