Hey, all! Bumping this post as I've added another unknown track from one of the Tiger cassettes released in the early 90s, which (like a few others) may possibly come from a digital keyboard/synthesizer (i.e., Yamaha, Casio, etc.) This leaves us with 33 unknown tracks left to identify for both all 2-XL titles.

To summarize, the Mego 8-track tapes from the late 70s/early 80s utilized music from the Emil Ascher library, taking from the following labels:

Amphonic Music
KPM Music
Bruton Music
Musique Pour L'Image
Parry Music
Standard Music Library
Studio G
Ultra Music Services

Plus, they also used tracks from Capitol Production Music's Media Music catalogue for some of the early tapes.

By the 90s, when Tiger Electronics produced new tapes, they not only used KPM, Bruton, Parry, and Amphonic tracks, but also began using De Wolfe Music, sourcing from both their vinyl and CD catalogues.

Here is the link again for all the remaining unknown tracks (8 from the Mego 8-track cartridges and 25 from the Tiger cassettes): dropbox.com/scl/fo/jevq60nw2cbzuay4pk0s8/h?rlkey=n0innvvvfo9wuwxtptkhj0mn3&dl=0

Not much of an update, but a while ago, I found out that the music box rendition of "Wedding March" by Mendelssohn (which can be heard in the Mego 8-track release, "Storyland") comes from a Regina musical box, because there is a similar recording of said classical music piece from BBC Records (soundeffects.fandom.com/wiki/BBC_Records,_Musical_Boxes_-_(Regina)_%27The_Wedding_March%27), though the disc in that recording is played much faster than in the original recording heard on the 8-track.

However, I wasn't sure if anyone could source the original recording from "Storyland" (and another musical box disc melody) from one of either two albums:

  • Century Records' "Selections From The Regina Music Box" (discogs.com/release/13462005-The-Regina-Music-Box-Selections-From-The-Regina-Music-Box)
  • "Music Boxes Of Long Ago" from Cook Records' Sounds of Our Times catalogue (discogs.com/release/10848421-George-And-Madeleine-Brown-Music-Boxes-Of-Long-Ago)

Hopefully, this will help narrow out what may be library music, sound effects, or possibly from commercially released music albums.

Identified "trivia time thinking music" as Rap Pattern 26 "Funk 4" from the Casio Rapman (Rap-1) keyboard (heard in 10:22 in the video below):

Rap Pattern "Rock 2" was also used in a couple other Tiger 2-XL tapes for the "2-XL rap" with the percussion sounds following the rhythm track's abrupt end.
