I realized that the first song of CT 2012 "Maharadjah Adventures" is incomplete. I leave you the download link for those who don't have it.

Not sure what Dan meant there. The track is not incomplete. Length is 4:06. No re-up necessary.

I happen to have these rips at 16 bits and at 24 bits as well. Both resolutions are always the same rip, so roope seems to have shared them in these two versions.

If you have only the 16-bit stuff, don't worry. The difference between 16 and 24 bits is that 16 bits lead to a tad more of quantisation noise because the waveform isn't as exactly approximated as with 24 bits (the latter gives you 2^8=256 times as many values to choose from for each sample). This quantisation noise is at around 20 kHz and -110 dB. If you're not a bat you won't be able to hear this, even with the best stereo system in the world.

(That doesn't mean that it would be silly to rip at 24 bits. To the contrary. But for the listening experience it makes no difference.)

PS >> Big cheers to roope for these very nice rips!

The track "Maharadjah Adventures" is 4 minutes and almost 50 seconds long, in roope's rip of said track it doesn't even reach 4 minutes and 10 seconds, meaning a part of the song was cut off.

Not sure what Dan meant there. The track is not incomplete. Length is 4:06. No re-up necessary.

I admit, I had the "brilliant" idea of putting together an old MP3 rip with a lossless one. It would be nice if someone would correct that mistake, maybe even if roope did an update to "Space Dream".

Hey Dan, forgive me but I still don't get what you're talking about. And what you mean by correcting "that mistake", and by "even if roope did an update".

Have you listened to the track? The Discogs length info (also printed on the label: "4:45") appears to be simply wrong (https://www.discogs.com/release/1659830-A-Feanch-Flash-Resonance-Space-Dream). That's not unusual.

roope's rip (both the 16- and the 24-bit version) has it at 4:06, and also the first track in the YT "video" -- which is a different rip -- is of exactly the same length (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Z5PO1CforY).

Furthermore, roope's rip starts with a pop, and then the music sets in. The start of the track may seem a bit abrupt, but the pop before tells me that it's the actual start. It plays without apparent skips or gaps and also fades out ok at the end. Otherwise, roope would have had to manipulate it in some way. I think that's rather unlikely. And there is the YT video.

Maybe I explained it wrong. What I mean is I'll do a demonstration of what the original track would look like, and what the track ripped by roope has been like. I notice that the track is incomplete: pixeldrain.com/u/TS3qXJqt

I listened to the song countless times, because I like the label, but there was something weird there that didn't fit. What was written on the label and the length of the track didn't match at all. Then I investigated and realized that roope had made a mistake when recording his record.

Aha! Now I understand. So, you're right, and my impression of the start of the track being somewhat abrupt wasn't actually mistaken. But how can one then explain the initial pop in roope's rip? Confusing.

I will send a PM to roope and ask him.

The track in its entirety is much better!

Hello!

Great that people listen carefully and notice these kind of issues! Thanks for letting me know.

My computer does this kind of bug sometimes, and I think I always notice it because it's connected to power save mode activating during ripping. It's a situation I usually manage to avoid, and if it happens I check the files and rerip if needed. But this time I haven't been careful for some reason.

I will make a new rip of the album. Unfortunately it's the worst conditioned copy in my Flash Resonance series. If someone has a better copy, please rip!

New rip! Will edit in the orginal post too. Now A1 is 04:47.

Youtube rip is probably the same as mine, but cleaned. Didn't really have time to investigate though.
