Angel "Pocho" Gatti was covered long and large on this forum over the past years...but it's been a while since something new came our way...
This album...as the title clearly suggest...is an occasion for A.P.Gatti to make us discover great musical themes from Argentina...giving some tasteful adaptations of some folk titles (zamba)...some compositions by other better know composers as well as some of his own.
This album grew on me very much as I cleaned, edited and tagged correctly to offer a presentation up to its quality...
What surprised me the most was the use of mellotron on many tracks (or was it onde martenot?)...and the tasteful quiet rhythm section...
It's an album that needs to be listened...if only for the brilliant interpretations of Angel...
The BeB label was home of his more famous "Turbomusic" from 1981 later reissued in part on Sonarama in 2015.
There is another one A.P.Gatti on this label as well titled "Concerto Per Quasar"...will post some other time soon...
