Library records and CDs as props.
« on: March 11, 2018, 09:01:24 PM »
I spotted some Bruton BRH CDs in this weeks ‘Coronation Street’ behind Fiz and Tyrone in their front room. Rita has had a 90’s ‘Drones’ CD For sale in The Cabin for about 10 years.
I have seen KPM’s in the background in ‘Minder’ and ‘The Sweeney’ I think.
I saw Sudio G’s ‘Images’ in ‘Brookside’ years ago- Sinbad and Mick were reading the back of it sat on the sofa.
I’ve been intending to post up the Chappell ‘’Dance Music’ LP that Alison Steadman plays in ‘Abigail’s Party’ for a while.

Obviously they’re easy props when dressing someone’s front room.

Seen any in the background anywhere?

There's what looks like a Boosey and Hawkes LP on the shelf behind Alice The Chimp here:

Watching a repeat of an episode of The Bill, 'Lies Of Silence' from 2001, where two officers burst into the home of a suspect who had a DJ turntable set-up in his room - and on the turntable was a sleeveless Amphonic LP!

Behind it I could just see a red sleeve with a large 11 in white letters in the right hand corner, which looked like another library album (possibly French?) but I couldn't place it - any ideas?

EDIT:  You can see for yourself from 11:40 here:

Shame this one wasn't blasting out some Syd when Sun Hill's finest came knocking!

Here’s a Greensleeve in an episode of The Sweeney.

Am 100% sure Dennis Waterman has KPMs in an episode of The Sweeney (or maybe Minder) too but can’t find it...

I think I remember Terry playing a de Wolfe LP with the trumpet man label in an episode of Minder.

Quite a few times at the start of Alan Partridge in the background at the radio station you can see Bruton CDs and some other library CDs.

In the UK, current Coronation Street has some library CDs in Tyrone & Fiz’s gaff again- DWCD Network Zone plus a Bruton in the mix.   They’ve had CDs as props in the Cabin behind the counter in the past.
