Sonoton Recorded Music Library (LPs)
« on: February 03, 2018, 04:17:14 AM »
List courtesy of Retronic, with revision and additions by me.

Notable and long-running German label based at Schleibingerstraße 10 in München, Bayern under Sonoton Music GmbH & Co. KG, established and headed by husband and wife Gerhard and Heide Narholz.

The publishing company Sonoton was established in the mid-60's, but they first seem to have started issuing records in the late 70's/early 80's. Though seemingly separate companies, Sonoton remains closely tied to Intersound, both being based at the same address in München and featuring many of the same composers and performers.

A rich selection of composers and artists are featured here, both from Germany, Gerhard Narholz' native Austria as well as Poland, Yugoslavia and the UK. The Narholz family, with both founders and their sons Christoph and Gregor are featured extensively in the catalogue. Their youngest son Robert (b. 1971) is also featured later in their catalogue, after the transition to CD.

This list is for Sonoton's first run of releases on vinyl. For subsequent CD and digital releases, please see this thread (CDs) and this thread (digital).
No artists/performers specified unless otherwise noted. All releases are to my knowledge undated.
