Francis, Day & Hunter Ltd. were absorbed into EMI c. 1972.
The LPs seems to have had two different sleeve designs; earlier issues have a generlc front sleeve with the label name and address, whereas later issues add the tracklist to the front cover.
As LPs go, I'm guessing these were quite early - the rear sleeve has a small write-up which details the advantages of such new "L.P." records:
This issue of recorded material is the first in a new policy of Long Playing records. An L.P. offers new approaches to the recorded music library field. More selections are contained on the one record, whole suites can be recorded, giving many different moods with the same combination of instruments. In this way a programme or a film can be consistent throughout, enabling quick selection through quantity, also, less storage space is needed for the same amonut of music.
Quality as well as variety being one of the top priorities on these new L.P.s, has necessitated care being taken in the original recordings, first copies of which are avilable on 15 i.p.s. (38 c.m.) and 7½ i.p.s. (19 c.m.) tapes, in both mono and stereo.
The policy of the library is to continually add varied selections to its already comprehensive choice.
