Los Angeles-based independent US CD/digital label of Los Angeles Post Music Inc. Production Music Group, established 1994/1995 by saxophonist-composer Tom Borton. Initially based in Sherman Oaks, they later moved to Playa Del Rey.
Borton died suddenly in 2011, after which the label seemingly stopped announcing new releases. c. 2014 they moved their legal address to Glendale, Colorado, and around 2018/2019 their website seems to have gone offline. I assume the label also folded around this time.
Both associated publishers are currently registered with an address in Denver, Colorado - I presume managed by Borton's relatives or estate.
In something of a unique move, the label's cues don't have conventional titles, but rather follow a sort of internal cat.# system rather useless without its accompanying descriptions. As an example, one CDs has cues titled stuff like "LAPMZ2373" and "LAPMZ2357".
This system was dropped at one point, and later digital re-releases of the material gave the same cues 'normal' titles instead.
Though a fairly obscure label at time of this writing, it seems to have seen some use in US TV productions; in a press release from Nov. 2001 which announced the signing of a 3-year agreement between LAPM and HBO, it is mentioned that cues from the label had been used in flagship shows the Sopranos and Sex and the City, and I've also found mentions of placements in Friends, Everybody Loves Raymond and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Not really having found much info on these, I'm uncertain if the CDs had composers/publishers listed on them. The composer list below was sourced from archived versions of the label's website.
