Windows 11 file organisation!
« on: June 27, 2026, 09:43:03 PM »
I know this is not strictly music related, but I have all my music duplicated in various folders on two separate computers, one using Windows 7 and one using Windows 11. Now Windows 11 for some stupid reason segregates the contents of every folder into groups according to when the files were last accessed. I find this really annoying when I'm hunting for files alphabetically. Is there any way to get Windows 11 to just list the files in a normal way without grouping them in this stupid way?

I'm unfortunately not familiar with this specific issue, but this strikes me as something that is probably modifiable by changing the File Explorer settings or by using the "Customize" tab for your specific drive/folder.

Sorry Swingalong but being an Apple user I can't advise from experience. But I did find this solution on Microsoft's website ==> https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/3867877/completely-disable-file-grouping-always-everywhere. It looks like it might solve your problem.
