Original album - やってみよう!No. 1 Quirky Fusion
« on: February 07, 2026, 04:07:14 AM »

Hiii!
I am very excited to introduce something I've been working very hard on...
I am into Japanese Music Libraries. I decided to make my own based library set. Basically, I make 10 different volumes of this idea, all being inspired by different Japanese Music Libraries. For the first album, I decided to do an album inspired by Roland Professional Music Library (now C MUSIC), specifically on the OHCO and EDCD series. I love those albums so much, the music is so fun and playful. In this album, you'll find 10 different songs I made, based on this library. If the titles seem very exciting, that's because, that's what the OHCO and EDCD titles are like. It's pure Japanese end of 20th century based fun and excitement. I also made an album cover similar to that of OHCO. it's not me trying to copy it, just think of it almost as a parody. It's inspired by it! Most of the songs use MIDI instruments that are supposed to sound like the real instrument but really don't. I think that's part of the charm to this small era of music.

The album series is titled "やってみよう!" which translates to "Go for it!" This particular album is numbered as YML-001, and the album title is "やってみよう!No. 1 Quirky Fusion", as I find most fusion music from Roland OHCO and EDCD pretty quirky and fun!

I hope you really do enjoy this album. I enjoyed making and working on it, as well as thinking it through. The songs are not perfect, there are tiny imperfections in places, the audio quality is not superior to any kind, I hope you don't mind (bars...)! I also really hope you enjoy listening to it too. I think there's something in here for everyone!
The song titled "Let's go for a drive on a day like this" is the only unoriginal song in this album, I actually covered it. It's originally from the OHCO series. While I made my own music based on OHCO and EDCD, I still wanted to incorporate something worth of the originals. That song actually features my recorded drumset playing, it's not the best quality but I tried my best. I didn't have this album mastered or messed with. I like it the way it is. It's special to me in that it's just not perfect.
Anyways, I really do hope you get something good out of this. If you're interested, here's what I'm thinking to do next:
No. 2 - Sound Maker Shizen / New Age inspired
No. 3 - Otojiten and jingle library inspired
No. 4 - Teichiku BGM Library
No. 5 - Maybe like sound Bank? idk
It's still a work in progress.
Just, let me know what you think of this album and if I should post another one in the future! Also.. Stay tuned for February 9th, I'll be posting some stuff from some of those libraries and some other stuff too!
Happy Olympic Season!

I'm glad you like it! :)
If you like interesting "vibes" on these types of albums, I think you'll like the next one I'm working on...
It's titled "やってみよう!No. 2 Shizen Atmosphere" (In Japan, Nature is Shizen, so I thought I'd make the title that instead) and it's a futuristic new age album, I think it's going to be very Frutiger Aero sounding!
