General Discussion / Musicians who should have worked with Library Music labels
« Last post by KPM Lover on November 18, 2024, 11:30:52 PM »
I decided to do this post because I knew and discovered many composers who could be working with Library Music labels in the 60s, 70s and 80s, but were not noticed by these companies. As there are many, I will only mention four artists. Two from Brazil (my country) and two others from Mexico. All the mentioned composers worked or work as voice actors.

- Mário Lúcio de Freitas:
Mário Lúcio de Freitas is a Brazilian composer, arranger, music producer and voice actor who worked extensively in the field of original TV soundtracks in the 80s and 90s and made many advertising jingles. One of them was even broadcast in several countries, including the USA, for the brand Ruffles, made in 1985. In my opinion, with all that curriculum, he could have worked with Library Music labels in the 80s. I heard some songs that Mário made in this period and they would be perfect for records dedicated to corporate music, especially those made by synthesizer.

- Marcelo Gastaldi:
Marcelo Gastaldi was a Brazilian composer, singer and voice actor who was very close friend of Mário Lúcio de Freitas. In the 60s, they had a vocal group called "Os Iguais", a group where both composed many songs, such as "A Partida". In my opinion, he would be a very good composer for Library Music labels in the 70s, especially tracks in the generes Funk and Rock. Unfortunately, Marcelo died in 1995.

- Rocío Garcel:
Rocío Garcel is a Mexican singer, instrumentalist and voice actress who was part of the rock bands "Las Chic's" and "Los Belmonts". I don't know if she made any musical composition, but because she could play various instruments, like guitar, bass, drums, piano and trumpet, she would be very capable of composing tracks for Library Music labels in the 70s. In this case, I imagine she would compose songs of all kinds of styles for these companies.

- Jorge Roig:
Jorge Roig is a Mexican composer, lyricist and voice actor who is married to Rocío Garcel and was part of the band "Los Belmonts", as drummer, songwriter and lyricist for the adaptations of foreign songs recorded by the group. In my opinion, he would be perfect for Library Music labels in the 70s, especially on themes in the generes Funk and Rock.

This is my list of composers that should be on Library Music labels, but have not been noticed by these companies and didn't live in countries that have this type of market. In your opinion, which composers you wanted to see on a Library Music label?

Track IDs / Unknown tracks from "Gathering Speed" VHS (1985)
« Last post by Fabio on November 18, 2024, 08:51:43 PM »
Hello everybody  :)

These days I'm looking for the background music of a 1985 VHS ("Gathering Speed") which talks about the history of American racing. Unfortunately, I am missing 10 of the 77 songs included in the soundtrack and, for this reason, I ask for your help. The tracks I found were from vinyl records by Bruton, KPM, Conroy and Themes International Music. Maybe these are songs from vinyl records that have not yet been digitized and, therefore, not recognized by Shazam.

It's always great to see another upload in the Modern Library section. Rarely anything happens here!

Thanks, as always!

[...]

Judging from YT video this children's Christmas record by Jenkins and Ratledge is really lovely. Does someone have time for another re-up?

I found the lossless upgrades:

RT 166 has the newer ones I did yesterday as an extra in there in case they have a better version
