Did Clokey used kpm conroy or harmonic
Clokey used southern library of music in 1968 and they did use a capitol track for gold rush Gumby (named western saloon) I have a feeling they used harmonic kpm and conroy
Update: I founded something that was heard in Gumby https://youtu.be/jdnHAYnMeUU
-
I don't think Gumby used anything from the Conroy, Harmonic or KPM 78s. Plus, I think you have to be patient if you're waiting for replies.

I think they used some random German companies since they used crime and danger sign no 4 or de Wolfe
And Valentino (and I guess a little of jw and impress)

also one of the musics that play in moon madness when pokey prickle and goo are getting chased by robots sounds too conroyish and the music that played in the opening of behind the puffball sounds too Kpm or harmonic which caused me to post this

he’s talking about the music media 68 one by ib glindemann

I think the opening the plays in mystic magic is Clive Richardsons pride of India or Indian neutral from C.B.L 509 (Charles brull) so your probably right since the opening sounds Indian

that’s actually a great idea of where the opening came from
-
It's not Pride Of India or Indian Neutral on Mystic Magic - I have CBL 509 and they're both slightly exotic sounding orchestral pieces, rather than sitar tracks
-
All I know is Gumby used ib glindemanns western salloon Robert Mersey beatnik/alley cats
-
That guitar music that plays in the Gumby episode indian country sound like the production music in the 1967 spiderman cartoons (idk if it was heard in spider man)
-
I like how this datebase stopped after this and I also had a dream about Trevor Duncan’s mutations was heard in the Gumby episode the glob
-
WAIT I HEARD IB GLINDEMANNS COMEDY DRAMA IN THE GUMBY EPISODE OF CLAYS AND CRITTERS
-
Since we're talking about tracks used in Gumby... I wonder what tracks were used in The Gumby League?

probably langlois 78s or boosey and hawkes 78s from the 50s
-
What I’m actually trying to find is the music in point of honor and tricky ball which are probably jw or conroy 78s
Edit: I also forgot to add that almost the music can’t be found by shazam or aha (except for blue goo, a hair raising adventure and gabby auntie) and I also recognize one of the music plays in the opening of the rodeo king (boosey and hawkes is also trying to find music for the tricky ball too…)
-
Dal McKennon who voiced Gumby also voiced sinbad jr in Hanna barberas sinbad jr and his magic belt which used conroy and impress 78s so I have some guesses
1: clokey did used impress and conroy but the ones that weren’t reissued by kpm and jw music (if Mckennon told about clokey about those labels)
2: they probably used video moods which is a lost media label company by Emil ascher inc
3: some of the gumby tracks are official composed music

Or if anyone have any uk libraries 78s tracks that were heard in gumby

On the topic of Clokey Productions (getting a little off-topic here)... Would any of you recognize these two similar-sounding tracks that were used in Davey and Goliath?

I think the delle haensch tracks heard in Gumby are probably from the cbs ez cue library….
-
Pretty interesting. Still, I'm glad you're letting us know that Clokey Productions didn't just use Capitol as a source for music! A few other labels were used as well.

I think the delle haensch tracks heard in Gumby are probably from the cbs ez cue library….
The Conzelmann/Hanesch music was mostly likely distributed at the time by the same unknown library Clokey got a lot of mileage of in the later 60s shorts - one probably ran by Gene Kauer and Doug Lackey, as their names are attached to several cues on ASCAP heard on Gumby as well as Davey and Goliath.
-
I heard Light Exchange and Strolling Serenade by Max Saunders from MQ 812 in an episode of Davey and Goliath!! Specifically, Kum Ba Yah.

the tracks probably came from Mozart edition or some less known German company or a uk library company
-
I think I found a track similar to delle haensch crime and danger sign https://youtu.be/DUko1hj6tWU
And looks what happens when i high pitch it to 6.00 https://voca.ro/1eS028yGPznr
-
I think the haensch tracks came from the new world library or Mozart edition
-
Speaking of brull conroy & b&h i wonder if this track from point of honor came from a b&h 78 or a conroy or brull lp https://voca.ro/1f6f5MCvXKUC
Edit: this track also probably came from the new world library
-
Unrelated, but somewhat related to Gumby, but I found a track used in an episode of Davey and Goliath!
Super-Mart by William McRae from L-89 was used in S4E9: Help!
-
And speaking of Davey and Goliath... There's this cue that was used in a few Season 1 episodes. Highly likely that it came from the Hi-Q series.

Nice, I’m still trying to find 78 tracks on the internet archive that were heard in Gumby, especially that one track that was heard in point of honor (it also sounds familiar to Paul Gerard’s (Dennis Farnon) street riot)
https://voca.ro/1axjqJ2FSyCt
-
Another Davey and Goliath finding! Domestic - Children (C-05) by William Loose from L-7 was used in S1E1: Lost in a Cave. At the very beginning of the episode, after the title card.
-
Hernik Nielsens (Ole Georg) Waltz Pompadour was heard in the Davey and Goliath episodes If At First You Don't Succeed, and The Greatest"
-
Any of you guys know where the music used in some of the title cards of the '60s episodes came from? This one, specifically?
voca.ro/19kJk8OryjgG
-
I can't access the files currently since my old laptop is bust, but some cue sheets which were for sale on eBay years ago have this and a few other pieces thematically related as just having alphanumeric names ("PP-xx"), whatever that means, and credited to Kauer and Lackey.
-
I think that track is official because there’s a piano version of it heard in piano rolling blues
-
Not only that, there's a short where Gumby whistles that theme!
-
Any of you know what was used for the beginning and end titles of the early-'60s episodes?
voca.ro/18IQvUIWSWWe
-
Probably official composed music
-
I think I might've found a likely lead on the identity of the library used in the late 60s shorts! Plugging in "Dehace" (the name of the library Conzelmann and Hanesch ran in the 50s and 60s) in the Internet Archive's "search text contents" function got me a 1959 Variety article announcing the formation of a library known as "International Music Library"/"New International Music Library", run by a director and producer named Marion Gering. The library offered music recorded in various European countries, but of particular note is the fact they had a branch in Germany, "tieing into the resources of Dehace, largest film music library in Germany". If this library was kicking around well into the 60s, I could easily see it being where Art Clokey found the Selected Sound tracks used on the show.

that’s nice!
-
Did Clokey even borrowed something from Valentino/major records
-
I think Gumby borrowed video mood lps too
…… if I’m not right I think the gumby episode tricky train borrowed video mood 78s they sound like they are from the library.
-
"Tricky Train", I am certain, exclusively uses cues from the "International Music Library". Some of them show up as far back as 1959 in "Bucky and Pepito".

Edit: yep it is, it’s on page 7
-
I think the circus track heard in the Gumby episode the Ferris wheel mystery when prickle and pokey are in the carnival is probably from major records sound effect or authentic sound effects.
-
Found some more tracks! The Henry and His Claymates (which was supposed to be a Gumby spin-off) episode Dragon Witch uses cues from Hi-Q Reel X-47.
Beatnik (SF-400), Flutesville (SF-403), and Call Girl (SF-405) by Robert Mersey were used.
-
Here’s one more
EM-108H - light animation Phillip green (plays in How To Not Trap Lions) from S-23/S-24
-
I realized that Williams McRaes Super Mart is paired with some Roger Roger tracks that has unknown Sam Fox 78s but they are from the 60s which were later reissued by hi q in 1961.
-
Henrik Nielsens The Green Danube plays in the D&G episode Kookaburra
-
Knowing that Season 5 of D&G used a bunch of Southern cues, I wouldn't be surprised if the credits music used in some episodes comes from that label.
voca.ro/11kSjP5MVhhT
-
That credits theme always sounded like a Green/Love/Thorne L-series track to me. Not sure which one it is, but it could be the currently unavailable "Happy as Larry".

it’s might also be a southern lp if they borrowed one.

Found this being used in Hot Rod Granny. Also was used in Who's What. Sounds a lot like an X Series track!
voca.ro/11yXmfLfA1fw
-
Most likely a cue from the currently unavailable X-19/20!
-
Any of you recognize this cue? It was used in the Gumby episode Santa Witch and the Davey and Goliath episode All Alone. I'm 100% certain that it's from the Hi-Q library.
