Title: KETV news theme c. 1989, also used in a Central trailer in 1986

Hello. I'm looking for help identifying a (presumably British) library track used by KETV in Omaha, Nebraska, USA to open the news circa 1989:

I presume it's British because I also heard it on a Central trailer from 1986:

It sounds kind of like Bruton, perhaps Alan Hawkshaw (reminds me of "Best Endeavours", the Channel 4 news theme, but it's not that). I haven't found it searching in Bruton Vaults, and the sample databases for the audio fingerprinter don't recognize it either. Does anybody here possibly recognize it? Thanks for any help!
