Hello Roope, thank you so much! Here it's raining but the weekend has begun well with a gem of yours.
I love this album. Super Game and Calliope are fantastic and the album as a whole is very pleasant.
-
Thank you very much Roope.
Black Rock Records is one of my favorite labels.
What year this could be from? Middle 80's, isn't it?
-
Thanks Roope
-
It's one of my favorite labels too! The records often have a special warm and intimate sound that works for me perfect, always many great songs on the lps, amazing surprises. Many of my all time favorite library tracks are from Black Rock LPs.
No idea about the year, sounds like it should be from the later half of 80s.

Roope, here's another of your uploads that I missed the first time. May I ask for a reup, please?

Hello Roope, I have given this album a lot of listens since you posted it and every time it sounds better and better.
It reminds a bit of the music for Amiga games of the late eighties. Thank you again for sharing this jewel.
-
Roope, you are some kind of wunnerful awesome on this board!
Thank you for the reupness :)

Roope, Greta, Mr and anybody else who wants to chime in, I have a question for you all.
Which methods are you employing in arriving at the conclusion of the release dates being sometime in the mid-80s?
Discogs offers no dates and if I had to guess, I'd have said sometime in the mid to late 70s.
If we're going strictly by how the music sounds, trends, etc then I'll have to listen more closely, especially since I've never heard this LP before ;D
As to actual dates, I wish the LP rear covers / labels offered more definitive dating than guesstimology! ::)
Thanks for any input!

Don't have a specific method MD.
When no infos are available, it's just by listening that I have certain feelings, and obviously they can be easily wrong.
Here, I just thought about somewhere in the mid 80's because of the "typical" electronics of that era and the light atmosphere all around.
But I repeat, it's only a guess.
-
Thanks for helping out, Greta!
I totally agree with your 'method' because I do that to. I think music goes in trends, like most things in pop culture. I've noticed these same cycles in Production Music, even despite the broader ranges of creativity. Perhaps a client is wanting more "pop" sounding tunes so the artists / composers might try including tracks with a more 'commercial' sounding, pop-py appeal, etc.
Btw, I'm not knocking how many of us arrive at deciding the time frame of a particular LP. Sometimes the best way, the only way, is an educated guesstimate.
I was mainly wondering if somebody had a different method than mine. If Library knowledge is like a swimming pool, my expertise is more in the shallow end ;)
Thanks again for your input!
