[Edimerc] EC 00107 - Gisteri & Santany - Antico Mondo Greco Romano (1971) @320
Hello to all,
this Edimerc album by Gisteri (Oronzo De Filippi) and Santany (Romolo Grano) was recorded with percussion, oboe, harp, recorders and buccina (an ancient roman army brass instrument).
It contains both calm tracks (Danzatrici, Idillio, Archeologia) and war fanfares.
Thanks to the original uploader. Have a nice Greco-Roman trip! ;)

Great! Thank you very much for this fantastic share Rocco ...

Would love to hear this one; love Oronzo di Filippi, particularly his experimental works as Gisteri/Awake, Elettronica e Tecnica Spaziale and Fasce in Colore!

A really lovely album! Many many thanks to everyone involved with sharing it here. If anyone owns the record or a lossless rip of it, would welcome its posting as well!

Terrific! Thank you in advance, roope!

Thanks for your rip Tezeta. My, what lovely scans ;)

I noticed my copy is more noisy than I remembered, so I'm just posting an unedited wav-transfer. I don't know what's the problem. The disc looks fine and I washed it. If someone thinks it's worth editing and remastering this one, go for it!

Beautiful! Thank you roope, I'll go about cleaning, tracking and converting it.

Thanks a lot for this excellent album, roope! :D
Didn't see tezeta's post until now, when I was just about to post my cleaned up version of your wonderful share. But having the option of choosing between two "remasters" won't hurt, I guess!

BTW, in case anyone would like to know what I did:
- Corrected the DC bias
- Attenuated a constant hum at 200 Hz which was present throughout the entire album
- Some gentle high and low pass filtering to remove subsonic turntable rumble and unwanted hiss
- De-clicked the entire album, making sure transients were unaffected
- A REALLY gentle EQ bump in the area of 10 kHz to open up the soundstage just a teeny-tiny bit (sorry about that, but I thought it helped)
- Added fades between tracks
- Split into separate FLAC files
- Tagged the files
- Ate an ice cream
- Edited this post

Woah, sounds like you've worked hard on this! Thanks so much for doing such a pro remastering for this album that surely reserves it! :) :) :)
Uh, I hope the hum of my soundsystem isn't a problem with my other rips.

Thank you Roope and ericmivalstoothbrush :)

Thank you guys. It's great to work in team!

I see that 200 Hz hum is present on your Pellegrino upload as well, but it's not like it's audible or anything so I wouldn't worry about it. Your rips sound very, very good!

Ok, good to hear! I will need to buy a new stylus though at some point but this one seems to still work fine.
Was the hum on my previous rips too or is this a new characteristic? I've noticed that my vintage tape player has started to make some light hum even when not on, I wonder if the turntable has caught a bit of that.
Anyway I guess most of the sound systems have some hum, and it's easy to filter away if it's a problem.

Really great remastering job eric, I couldn't possibly have done better myself. Thanks so much to you and roope once again for sharing this fine music in HQ!!

Thank you Roope for the upgrade and Eric for remastering.
Roope, I enjoy your rips a lot. Thank you very much for your beautiful shares! :)
