Title: Tracks from unknown music library used in Brazil in the 1990s.
Post by: JB Jhonatan on October 17, 2023, 12:24:52 AM
I made a compilation of tracks widely used in IDs, promos and commercials from various television stations in Brazil throughout the 1990s. They belong to an unknown music library. I've been looking for information about these tracks and which music library they belong to for a long time.

Shazam and Youtube do not recognize these tracks.

I would suggest you to remove the vocals of the tracks (https://librarymusicthemes.com/index.php?topic=8208) you are looking for. People might be more familiar with the completely instrumental versions of them and makes it easier for services like Shazam and AHA music. Lala.ai gives good results on vocal removal.

I have two tracks that I'm sure were featured in promos for Sessão da Tarde but never found a Youtube example of them being used:

https://vocaroo.com/10zr9WL1KAYd (https://vocaroo.com/10zr9WL1KAYd)

https://vocaroo.com/11VcRnPXhkTh (https://vocaroo.com/11VcRnPXhkTh)

They are both from Aircraft Music - ACL 20 - The Competitive Edge

Sessão da Tarde has many similar tunes... (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9AsHdR8tLJ8)

I'm going to try this method knowing that Shazam or any other application won't recognize the tracks I'm looking for.

And another, Globo never used Aircraft Music songs in promos for “Sessão da Tarde”.

as far as i know, that was the first production library in compact disc for licensing in Brazil, it was played on RBS TV stuff since 1990.

I think this library is probably brazilian, due to how "cheesy" it sounds. (unlike most of Valentino library and Sound Ideas music, released on CDs)

Ooh!! This might be a very likely lead!

It is a hypothesis that has not been ruled out.

This music library was also used in a special produced by the former TV Pontal (current TV Fronteira) of Presidente Prudente (São Paulo State, Brazil) about the city of Dracena in 1991:

Bad news about this production library: Izaan Oliveira, from TV Liberal, doesn't have an authorization to share the CD info/data (disc scans and their music tracks)

What a shame! But, does Izaan Oliveira have any relevant information about the company responsible for the CDs?

Izaan told a friend of mine that these tracks came from TV Globo (i don't know if he said this library is owned by Globo itself)

I have the impression that this collection of tracks was delivered by TV Globo to its affiliated stations.

And i'm wondering this library is a buyout collection distributed by Som Livre / Globo, since it was played on medias that don't have any association with Globo (Bandeirantes bumpers, CNT promos, various local ads, Government PSAs, etc...)

I also have the same question. Because this music library was only played in Brazil. I didn't see any foreign broadcaster playing the tracks in question.

With all my knowledge about late 80s library music, i have noticed that every music track from this unknown library were made on a single Emulator II sampler. (heavily used in libraries from this era)

Exactly. I assume this unknown music library was released between 1987 and 1989.
