Title: Conroy Recorded Music Library (24bit FLAC)

1969 Sonoton enters the international market through the British BERRY MUSIC company, who sub-publishes Sonoton productions worldwide on the library music labels CONROY, STUDIO ONE and PROGRAMME PRODUCTIONS.

EMIPM has a small handful of the Conroy Recorded Music Library series with the cool orange covers, all in 24bit/48kHz resolution. It is by no means complete. Everything emipm has is presented here.

Thanks for the upgrade BWP, Bird in Boots is one of my all time favourite library tracks.

I wonder if these come directly from the orginal master tapes, if they survive, or a vinyl rip from their archive ?

Richard Elen's posted a photo on social media of him dubbing off a Conroy master tape, so I suspect it's him doing them. The right choice!

The Hawksworth tracks from BMLP 095 were originally released on Synchro-Fox under different titles.

Post by: Dick Turpin on April 02, 2018, 12:59:08 PM: There seems to be a runtime difference of BMLP 145 when comparing the vinyl run times to that of the digital download as discussed here, the digital download runs 7.7% faster and changes the key:

I suspect someone at EMI thought this might sound better at a faster tempo than the original vinyl but this is just speculation in the absence of evidence, it may be the case that this is the original tempo but I doubt it. Anyhow I've altered BWP's very generous download so that it now matches that of the original vinyl tempo and run times. Thanks for the hard work BWP, this again is in 24bit FLAC.

I used Audacity, there are two methods for altering the tempo, one which changes the speed which also the changes the pitch (i.e. frequency) and one which changes the tempo (i.e. BPM) but doesn't change the pitch. If you go effect > change speed this is the former and effect > change tempo this is the latter. In this case we wanted to select speed change as the source material had both the pitch increased and the BPM increased when compared to the vinyl release. I created a chain to automate the process, I've discussed chains before with respect to something Retronic wanted to do with batch increasing the volume on a collection of FLACs, see here:

I did and ChunYinZi did an amazing job with it. Unfortunately the files were in WAV and not FLAC. I still downloaded the albums in the meantime and they are fantastic. I’m happy to have ChunYinZi on this forum as they are an excellent source for many library albums.

I’m just gonna see if anyone has BMLP 001 in FLAC

Ah, okay. It's not difficult to convert the WAV files to FLAC or any other format you might prefer. There are many apps available to do that. Sorry I can't help re BMLP 001.

Yeah I’ll transfer the files from WAV to FLAC. In regards to BMLP 001, I might ask ChunYinZi if they have it.

I tend to convert from WAV to FLAC via Audacity. Quite straightforward and it speaks my language as it's FREE
