Hi! Does anyone happen to have any of these Megatrax albums in lossless? I've been working on a project the last few years and while I see the CDs for sale sometimes, it doesn't make sense to me to buy albums of music just for one or two tracks. Any help would be very much appreciated!

Actually, I don't think anyone will help you in the forums if you ask for help with many albums at once, because uploading all these files is time-consuming.
My suggestion is that you ask for 1 or 2 albums at a time.
That way you're sure to get help.

I'm from China, and in my country it's very common to use library music on TV and radio, so I've been looking into it.
About 2 years ago when I came to the forum someone helped me too, so I've been giving back to the rest of the forum, I've lost count of how many people I've helped.
The only thing I'm kind of proud of is that I have download access to a lot of library music sites, technically Universal, APM, EMI, BMG.... I can download music from all of these sites, and most of them I'm able to do because of my work!
So, I'm just downloading them for you, it doesn't cost me any money or anything.
Unfortunately my memory is almost full, after I upload all the albums you need, I'll keep them for 7 days, after that I'll delete them, if you could provide me with a storage account with enough space, it would be perfect!

Bumping, but would anyone have MX 10 (Sound Design Vol. 1) or MX 148 (Fanfares, Links and Stingers Vol. 2). Been wanting to include the comedy/percussion sounds on there into my personal FX library, there's a few good ones in those I've noticed whilst going through their site.

thank you! i know this is pedantic but i'm hoping someone has the WAV version they can share so the quality will match the others in my collection - if not, this FLAC version is more than enough :D

Interesting. I'm curious. Assuming the FLAC version is a genuine copy then being lossless it will not be missing any of the musical data of the original. A WAV version would simply be the same data but with a different file extension. In which case why not simply convert the FLAC file to WAV? Not exactly the most efficient way of storing music data but if that's what floats your boat........

the wav files that come directly from megatrax are 48khz sample rate - CDs are recorded at a sample rate of 44.1khz. WAV has a bitrate of 1411 kbps and is uncompressed, while FLAC is compressed and usually has a bitrate of around 500kbps
also, reencoding a FLAC file as WAV will only increase the filesize, it won't change the quality of the actual audio itself
to me it's like 720p vs 1080p, it might not make a huge difference to some people, but it does to me
like i said, i know it's pedantic, but i hope this answers your question :D

the wav files that come directly from megatrax are 48khz sample rate - CDs are recorded at a sample rate of 44.1khz. WAV has a bitrate of 1411 kbps and is uncompressed, while FLAC is compressed and usually has a bitrate of around 500kbps
also, reencoding a FLAC file as WAV will only increase the filesize, it won't change the quality of the actual audio itself
to me it's like 720p vs 1080p, it might not make a huge difference to some people, but it does to me

Thanks VJ. No doubt much to the despair of fellow members I am genuinely interested in the technical side to all of this. My understanding was that FLAC being lossless was as good as you could get. Much like WAV but taking up less space. The bitrate reference puts a slightly different slant on things, though. I need to do some more research into this, clearly. ;)
