Ok, by my reckoning, the track that should be playing around 43 mins in is Neon Blue by Steve Williams.  Sorry, but can't help with that track.

I'm trying to recreate that tape and waiting for a couple of albums in the post so I can complete it in lossless.  Let me know if you are interested and I'll drop a link once I've completed it, and I'll share the full albums too.

I'd certainly be interested in the finished compilation Tony as well as the full albums when they become available.

As far as I'm aware, all the music on Maximus LPs was in mono... but if you are able to obtain stereo masters, that would be great!

If you get the necessary material for Rock & Soul, you might be able to complete Rio Dancanaro (BBC1) too!

I can't help with this one.  I've only got a poor quality off-air recording of this tape.  It does have 2 mystery, 'links tunes', at the end of it, which I assume you're looking for the titles of.

The link tune I remember best from that time was "Alpha Beam", by the Dave Cornfield Music Machine, which was usually played ridiculously loud.

Whereabouts in the tape is that track if I may?

Link tracks were played after the tape had finished, so they could change tapes without a long silence.

The links tracks John is referring to at the end of this BBC-2 tape "Rock N Soul" are as follows -
THE NEXT ONE by ANDY CLARK on KPM1296 and
THIS IS THE FUTURE by RICHARD HARVEY on KPM1351 (this track always reminds me of the Number 1 Chart Hit from Jennifer Rush in 1985 called "The Power Of Love".

How did you get on with obtaining the music for the Rock & Soul tape?
