I'm almost ashamed to present this in the lossless era, as it is in a very low quality (fake 320, 128 and 64 kbps!!), but they're the files I have, and to have an idea, they can do.
It's the series 13 from the label except n.6 and 8, I got who knows where, who knows when.
Let's hope it could be a way for someone to chime in and throw in more, or better quality of these.
As titles suggest, they're pop band, light orchestral, with a wide range of themes, from bossa to blues, from Christmas to ragtime. All in a very relaxing, happy and enjoyable style that reminds me a little further back than the 1972 these were issued.
Mainly composed by Philip Green, who, I suspect, was some way involved in the label foundation.

These are great. Not heard them before. There's a few by Alan Roper of the BBC NDO, and another by Ronnie Hazlehurst. Anyone know who owns/licences the Photoplay back catalogue nowadays?
-
According to Companies House, Photoplay Music is now known as CPM Music Ltd - the accounts say it's no longer trading, and they don't anticipate that changing, but it's still being treated as a going concern.
Photoplay was Philip Green's company. There may be some vague connection to the old EMI Photoplay library, which had catalogue numbers beginning with Q, and with which Green had some involvement (there was a very good article in the Robert Farnon Society magazine about this label, but I can't remember much about it).
There were two series, the 12 series which were 'Melodic Orchestral', and the 13s which we see above.
I have a small number of both series, and have done lossless rips of four of them (though I could do much better ones now!) - might upload them if there's any interest.

Please, yeah. I would like to have a listen.
