Would anyone out there in Library Music Themes Land be able to help me identify the elusive library piece used in the link below? It's an old UK ITV continuity announcement from the Autumn of 1980 (October, to be precise) and I would love to know the name of the funky disco track that was used. Although this is a Thames trail, I originally saw it on Central TV so I'm assuming ITV used this music nationwide. The music in question starts at 1:40 and runs through intermittently (and sadly, mostly inaudibly) till 2:56.

I've been desperately seeking the title and composer of this piece for 40 years and I would be absolutely delighted if some kind soul could ID it for me!

I remember you posting these on other versions of the community and I really dig that jam! Being in the US I never heard this till the internet. But i'd say since no one can ID it, i'm having a feeling it's custom original music for ITV...that's a guess I have on this. However if you ever find it isn't, i'd like to know what it is too.

I have a feeling I will go to my grave never knowing who wrote this! I suppose it could well be an original ITV piece, which is probably why it is proving so elusive, but I suspect we will never know for sure.
However, I will keep posting on every library music forum just in case...

I thought the same thing about two different pieces of music I'd been wondering about for over forty years (one of them only a seven-second snippet!)... and I recently discovered both of them, quite by accident, whilst looking for something else. It's a wonderful feeling when you finally hear those familiar notes coming at you in an alternate context. :)

After decades of searching I was truly delighted to finally get this piece identified a few years ago, and my grateful thanks go to Tony Currie for his help in putting me out of my misery. It's by Mike Moran and I was sure I'd posted this link at the time, but just in case anyone is still intrigued here it is in all its disco glory!

What a great track from Mike Moran. Do you know if this is library and if so do you know which album it's on?

If I recall Tony mentioned that the track was specially produced for ITV.
