The Parry Music Library was founded in Toronto, Canada in 1974. Its two principal officers are John Parry, who for nine years previously had managed one of the major music libraries in England and Chris Stone, who was running his library music consultancy company in Toronto. John brought with him to Parry Music the talents of many British composers with whom he had worked, such as George Fenton, Robert Farnon, Ron Grainer, Johnny Hawksworth, John Leach and Roger Webb, Frenchman Roger Roger and American John Cacavas. Once in Canada, many local composers joined the scene as well as numerous American writers.
A list of LP releases can be perused HERE (https://librarymusicthemes.com/index.php?topic=389.msg897#msg897)!

Parry is often overlooked; coming in a little late to the party for some with the early releases coming around 1977 I believe- the records have no dates. I'm not sure where the cues ended up other than a few popped up in 'Prisoner Cell Block H', spanning it's whole 8 year run.
The best way to understand Parry is to hear Parry.
So ears at the ready...............
............. let's begin.

First off the rack, PML 01 - On the Bright Side:

As I ripped this and encountered the track 'Funky Ride' it reminded me I had used the track in an old compilation I made in 2011 (April 29th to be exact). Back then it was compressed at 128kbps so I have remade it with the best quality I have; mostly lossless FLACS with a few at 320 and one at 256!

PML 04 - Moods For Drama
I picked this up in my first haul at a cost of about 16p a record. It's worth a bit more now.
I had 800 records to needle drop but it's beats stood out and it featured on my very first (cassette) compilations :)
Here it is all FLAC'd up for you guys.

PML 08 - Brass Colours (1978)I've shared this before but probably at a much lower bitrate. I think I may have out 'The Slink' on a compilation- not sure.
Bit of noise on the fade outs but not a bad copy- enjoy.

One for you cotton pickin' geetar folk or even if you're simply a completist. Quite a few clicks here and there (I shoud've cleaned it), but okay.

Thank you very much Retro.
Parry is such a solid label, one can't never give up any of them.
-
Thanks a lot emperor.
-
Cool, thanks again Retronic. 8]
-
Thanks for these upgrades, Retro!
Sadly, I'm finding numerous jump skips throughout PML 20 :(
Just a few that I caught (there may be more):
- "Flight To The Sun" around 1:00
- "Pizzazz" around 1:31
- "Butcher Boy" skips throughout
-
It's great to see this thread alive again. Thank you very much for the new Parry's, Retronic.
-
Hey all! so thankful things are back up running.. a special thanks to those who sacrificed the time and skills to rectify things.
anyways saw some request for some parry titles and thought this might help a few in the future?
vvvv Parry treasure chest (most titles)

thanks to all the OP's and sorry if this is available somewhere else in forum (I couldn't find it first glance..)
-
No problems! The important thing is the contribution of a great library like this.
And many thanks dothislikebrutus!
-
Thanks for this. There were a couple of upgrades to be had for myself. ;)
-
I wasn't sure if that fantastic collaboration thread about Parry was still here or not.
It's been exciting for sure, we almost got the whole catalog in flac (except for n.168), thanks to a massive contribute by a fellow member called Alohadude.
Thanks Alohadude, wherever you are Mag_ _ _ _
And thanks to dothislikebrutus for reupping all these titles.
I don't recall this nick "dothislikebrutus", are you new at LMT?
-
I'm no veteran to LMT, but have been checking the forum for probably less than a year. I just so happened to
still have this link up cause parry is one of my favorite labels. Got it from (I believe) another parry thread that seemed to vanish during the crash?

Out of all of the Parry Music track lists that were found, PML 161 - Classical Mosaic 3 is still lost.
-
Thank you Retronic!
;)
-
When you say 161 is lost, do you mean the link on here?
-
Yep, I'm also puzzled by your understanding that 161 is lost musictheorist. If you mean the link then here's a new one ==> h***s://pixeldrain.com/u/Aup8wkHt
Thanks to the OP.
