I use a fantastic program called ClickRepair. It has a 78s setting that removes clicks, crackle, and hum. Then I go through the file again and remove by hand anything it might have missed.

I don't own a copy of DW 2813 yet, but here is Killa-The-Librarian's rip in mp3. I'm not sure if this is the version you have, but there doesn't seem be be "noticeable fuzziness and distortion" (at least not to me).

Unfortunately, that's the same file. Listen in headphones. It sounds like you're listening to it through a blown speaker. It's very pronounced at the end of "Movie Play-In.." and you can hear the audio not tracking properly, as it dances around in your headphones (I know it's a mono source, but it still shouldn't move around).

It's either a broken mp3, or started as a low-res (or variable bit-rate) file.

Agreed! Slaney's "Hi Fi Fi" from DW 2662 is great, but Julius Steffaro's "Tea House Shuffle" from the same disc is the stand-out track for me. That entire record is very, very good. Also, 2671, 2690 and 2691 are all killer.

I'm happy you all are enjoying these. I have thirteen new rips in the works; I just need to photograph the labels. Also, I recently bought 49 more random De Wolfe 78s, but I'm afraid most are going to be doubles. Hopefully, there will be about a dozen new ones. Stay tuned...

"The Flying Messenger" from DW 2558 was used in Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Terry Jones, the co-director of the film, passed away a couple of weeks ago. Hearing it again now makes me picture him dropping the needle on random De Wolfe LPs searching for music (Though, they probably found the track when it was rereleased on DW/LP 3269 - Creeps, 1973). He was a great filmmaker, writer, and comedian. I will miss him.

Greetings, wf. My favorites are by The Frans Mijts Progressive Dance Orchestra. I recommend DW 2690 and 2691. Also, the "Madison" ones are pretty good too. Check out DW 2753 and 2754.

1. I updated the original post as I added new links, so everything should be available on the first post.

2. The records weren't dated until 1960. A few entries on Discogs have dates in the 1950s, but I don't know where the editor(s) got them from. I have a feeling that Label Variations 1, 2 and 3 may each have been a series that were released within one year. If Label Variation 4 came out in 1960, then series 1, 2 and 3 could have been 1957, 1958 and 1959. Just a guess.

As far as dates are concerned, I don't file things by release date in any case, so it won't wreck my filing system, I just like to have a date in the album name where available. I can put my customary "circa" type date in for the early ones.

Some of the missing ones have a title in as well as the number. Are they like that because we simply know what they are or is there another reason (like everybody knows what they are & has them already)?

These are the DW 78's after DW 2732 (1962) that I have never come across and remain missing to my knowledge - just NINETEEN total now. I haven't really maintained an inventory of the albums prior to 2732. The last De Wolfe 78 released was DW 3083. A8 has DEFINITELY filled in a ton of gaps over the years with all his shares and I'm forever grateful :)

When I received this record, I was surprised by the color scheme. I'm not sure if this is an official label variation or if the printer just got the blue and red colors reversed. Unfortunately, I don't have the two before this one (DW 2610 & 2611) so I'm not sure if this is the only label to be printed this way. It is also unusual since it has "A" and "B" as part of the catalogue number. That didn't show up on other labels until DW 2651.

Thanks. Seems to be working this evening. Must have been a Mediafire issue this morning. It kept telling me it was trying to generate a new dowload code.
