[Cardium] [K 500] Desert (Antonio Vuolo, Elio Grande) - Desert [1979]
Absolutely fantastic LP without crappy Drops In The Wind gate denoise of old mp3 rip sounds much much better
For me this LP near Teddy Lasry e=mc2 https://librarymusicthemes.com/index.php?topic=3247.msg21655 (https://librarymusicthemes.com/index.php?topic=3247.msg21655) (thanks to Tezeta)
Hard to find favourite track, but my favourite is Transvesuvian, Leaving and Drops In The Wind

Thank you, Neowave!

Ah, thank you! I really love this LP, but have only had an mp3 rip of it.
The gated rip that's floating around sounds terrible, agreed. It's seemingly the one most commonly passed around too. Pity.

Very cool. Thanks, neowave!
What's the deal with dates and the Cardium cat #s? K 500 = 1979, but K 501 = 1973?!

Fantastic, Cardium produced the gem ITTIOLOGIA...
Hope one day we'll hear INSETTI!

Beautiful, thanks neowave! :)

Here's a strange thing: I got my hand on a perfect CD rip of the 2008 Arision re-issue of this gem (https://www.discogs.com/it/A-Vuolo-E-Grande-Desert/release/5451941) from a totally trusted source and actually what was posted here looks like that exact version, only a bit more noisy (the CD version has no hiss).
Apart from that, exact same lenght for all the tracks (and that's strange since this should be an LP rip) and same equalization (that is not the case for the really ugly Strut reissue on LP/bandcamp, compare the third track "Leaving" on here: https://strut.bandcamp.com/album/desert).
Was this a rip you made yourself neowave? Just curious to know more :)

I also asked myself this question yesterday and found it. I took Rip from this source.

and the following mention from that blog leads on http://prognotfrog.blogspot.com/2015/03/avuolo-egrande-desert-italy-1979.html

Thank you so much for sharing and for the following infos. Would it be possible to have a lossless rip of the cd? It's out of print

It's striking how different this sounds from the recent Edizioni Leonardi reissue that's currently on the streaming services. Frankly, I prefer the balanced and less peak-y sound of their remastering, but I invite everyone else to draw their own conclusions!
