Here's a topic for some De Wolfe FLACs! The first ones come from a bunch requested by Greta. I'll continue with the next 4 requested ones later! After that maybe something else!
What an amazing label...

Yes, that Selling Sounds has a lot of short tracks. A couple from Dawn of the Dead.
-
Excellent, thank you!
-
Thank you roope, and yes i must agree, this is an amazing label :D
-
Very cool, thanks a lot Roope! :)
-
this label is out of sight for real! thank you, Roope!
-
Wonderful. Thanks for these upgrades, roope!
-
Thank you roope!
-
Beautiful. Thanks roope!
-
Thank you roope. Sadly tracks B1-B5 of Amber Turning Mauve are corrupted.
-
Probably because there are dots in the track titles? Try removing them? The tracks play on my computer.
-
Here's an add for tonight! Unfortunately it's again surprisingly noisy copy. Not awful at all, but still a bit annoying in music like this. Cleaning didn't help. Maybe someone can replace this rip at some point!

[Music De Wolfe] - DW/LP 3260 - Pierre Arvay - Music For Tuned Percussion
www11.zippyshare.com/v/GaHsbMob/file.html
-
These upgrades and first-times are tremendous and I'm just wacky about De Wolfe!
Thanks very much Roope.
:)
-
I was checking the amber one today and after extracting the songs i noticed that some of them appear only as "file", and can't be opened. Anyone else had this issue?. Here's a screenshot

Try to remove the dots from the file names? (Tempo No. 1 -> Tempo No 1).
-
Thank you for 3260 Roope! :)

So have I. I tried adding the .flac extension to those files, and they played without any issues.
-
Can't seem to make it work, well nvm. On the other hand, thank you for sharing the tuned percussion lp, was actually looking for that one a few days ago. :D

All of the files opened w no problem for me and all show as FLAC files.
I often have troubles with .rar files from certain uploaders. I expect that different regions mean differing programs and/or translations between languages lead to the difficulties. When this happens, if I'm unable to troubleshoot the problem myself, I simply open another unarchving program from the one I use in the main.
May I suggest:
1) Opening up the file by right-clicking for the file info. Check to make sure it says FLAC file. If it doesn't, change it to .flac
Next, try opening the file anew.
2) Opening the .rar file using a different unarchiving program. There's many to choose from online, most of them are free. Download the program of your choice and try opening the problem file with this new program.
These 2 steps have never failed to open a stubborn file. I hope they'll work for you, too.
-
Now it works! thanks guys ;D
-
Thank you very much Roope for upgrading these DW's.
ps I had no problems at all in opening and listening to every track.
-
Thank you for the share.
Having a Mac I convert the flac files to lossless m4a with XLD so I can listen to them in iTunes. XLD app recognises flac files with or without the flac extension so converts them and adds the m4a extension.
-
Thank you so much for the upgrades, Roope. A wonderful selection, especially Buttercup Jones, a favourite of mine. It's very nice to listen to these beauties as they deserve.
De Wolfe is such a great label, like KPM, Bruton, Chappell... but there's more to De Wolfe, the variety of its weird covers. Thanks again!
-
Didn't see this one uploaded on this site, so I thought I'd share it.
File quality is 48k 24-bit FLAC. Some surface noise can be heard, but, considering that the record was issued in 1967...
De Wolfe DWLP 3039 - London Studio Orchestra - There's A World Going On (1967)

Sometimes I think the de Wolfe labels were designed by Terry Gilliam! Having said that, a lot of Monty Python episodes used de Wolfe music! ;D
-
Thank you for the 3039 upgrade mshow81.
-
Thank you mshow81. A much appreciated upgrade.

Big thanks mshow81!

Make sure you remove the "hxxps://" from the URL. It works fine at my end... :)
PS. Almost forgot, THANKS mshow81! :D

Thanks for the response, ericmivalstoothbrush.
I try to explain myself better... I've not problem with the download. But after I downloaded and unzipped the folder with WinRAR, reading the files with both Foobar2000 and Sound Forge gives me several errors, all tracks seem broken.
EDIT: I also tried with 7-zip but I always get the same error.

Ah, sorry. I understand your problem now! I've extracted the file with Keka and it seems to work fine without any errors.
I do however think there's a more serious problem with the files. It seems like someone transferred the original vinyl without using the proper RIAA equalization. There's pretty much no bass and a lot of treble, the type of sound you often get if you just plug your turntable straight into the AUX input without a phono pre-amp. It does sound a bit better when you crank up the bass by 20 dB or so, and lower the higher frequencies by the same amount. I'm sure there are RIAA curve presets in software such as Audacity...

these are gr8 thanks roope

I only have 3477, I can rip it at some point. Super busy month though, so it may take some time! Someone shared 3511 some years ago, can't remember if it was FLAC or NOT.

Box Two [John Hyde] - Gun Man DWS/LP 3429
John Hyde - Wind Of Change DWS/LP 3558
I'll do Gun Man now as I love it and only seem to have ripped it at 320. The LP isn't bad but does have low level noise and small clicks running through- just enough to know it's vinyl you're listening to.
Wind of Change- I have but have never ripped it.
