It’s two previous LPs- first half is from about 1985 and was SMA 46.

I was wondering why it didn't have that typical all synth sound for 1988.

Just reminiscing about the fantastic Frayker Breaks on another thread with Muff Diver and I remember he used a track off the Rolf Kuhn LP for one of his comps and it sat well with his usual mix of 70’s American Cop Funk.
