Very cool, thanks Horror Bag! :)
-
Great. Thanks again HB.
-
Thanks!
-
Been interested in hearing The Chemistry of Madness for a while, many thanks.
-
Fantastic! Thank you so much for these very nice 78s, Horror Bag.
-
Hallejuiah, it's raining 78s! Thanks, Horror Bag. Especially enjoying "The Chemistry of Madness".
-
This is unbelievable. Thanks again HB!

Nice to see the love for Chemistry of Madness - they definitely stand out as a little different from the usual library fare. I've heard a few Ronald Binge discs from the period with a similar left field approach and I want to hear more.
-
Never heard Chemistry of Madness before, and none of the others either... Thanks for giving me the chance to do so, Mr Bag! :D
-
My pleasure. Thanks everyone.
I always like to see library music doing its thing out in the wild, and others like me will be delighted to make out the last two notes of "Benzedrine" at around the 10 second mark here:
In fact, the whole opening sequence of this show is an absolute goody bag of ancient library tracks. At 16 seconds "Communications 2" from Eric Siday's Musique Electronique appears too.
-
As you've got me nattering about A For Andromeda, I might as well add a couple more JWs that appear in the same title sequence:
2 MORE JW 78s
"Night Evocation" is the flutey number at 29 seconds, and comes from the next disc along from Chemistry of Madness, JW 294:

And the frightening electronic crashing at the end is "Destructures" from the almighty Desmond Leslie, on JW 231:

If you're not familiar with Desmond Leslie, I'd strongly recommend a quick Google - what a fascinating character!
-
Oh, yes! Desmond Leslie! :D And thanks a lot for the night evocation.
These uploads are really cool, because it's mostly unchartered territory for me. The only 78s I've heard are the few used on The Prisoner, so there's a whole universe waiting for me thanks to you, Bag. :)
-
Thank you very much again Horror Bag! :)
-
Thanks again Horror Bag. I really liked Leslie's tracks.

Delighted to hear it!
I suspected a Prisoner connection from your user name (just call me Detective Bag from now on). The library stuff from that show is an absolutely fantastic listen (Pavane is my favourite. And the A.B and C party music - name escapes me). In fact, my first library compilations ever were a cassette of tracks from 60s Doctor Who and 2 bootleg cassettes of Chappell Prisoner cues. Those tapes have a lot to answer for!
The main reason I've been buying all these bloody 78s is because I'm trying to track down a few tracks that were used in Dr Who and Quatermass, whose titles should have been written down on BBC paperwork but weren't. You'll often notice a drama / sci-fi / horror aspect to most of the things I'm uploading. We'll get a full set one day...
Anyway, hope you enjoy your new, slightly crackly and 78 rpm universe!

Thanks very much for these!

Thank you very much! :-*
