Thank you so much for upgrading this gem, Cratedigga!

Wow, I remember this LP!
Godchild was one of the very first LPs I downloaded from one of the old music blogs.
I'd always enjoyed the great music on this LP but the download was only 128 and no art.
Thanks so much for upgrading this fine JC Pierric album w FLAC :)

this is typically what I call a fake
the waveform looks more like Grace Jones's haircut than the original studio sound
I could send you the original vinyl rip, but would you really be interested? Would you be able to tell the difference when some people can't tell the difference between an mp3 and a real flac? I'm sure some would still prefer the fake for its excessive volume...

I would be.
I've just unpacked the re-up (thanks baobab13!) and was wondering about the origin of it. The log file states:
KID LOCO vs GODCHILD 1975 CD 1 / 1975 Original Godchild
so this will be a rip of the first CD of Kid Loco's re-issue. I don't know the original, but the sound is rather flat and lacks spaciousness -- particularly apparent in the denser and louder parts --, and the low dynamic ranges of most tracks of DR7 to DR9 let me assume that they fucked it up, as usual. Meaning: they brick-walled the music for the idiots with their crappy headphones and Iphone-DACs so that they can listen to it on the tube and feel hip.
These fuck-ups of digital "re-issues" of desirable records happen so reliably that I have come to believe they're quite deliberate. The producers aren't deaf, and they don't think they're doing a good job -- their aim is to manufacture a sub-par product and sell it off to people who don't much care how it sounds anyway. The benefit, from the perspective of the music industry, is that a few years later they can do it all over again without ever producing a definitive digital version that would actually sound as good as the original on a proper stereo system. Because then the game would end for them.

Don't forget that you need a good DAC as well.

As an aside to rippers/uploaders:
Please, please, please do make the true provenance of files clear if possible. Write it to tags, too. Do not pretend something to be recorded from an original. Do not link to Discogs pages that may mislead people into believing they are listening to something that they're not, in fact, listening to.
