Title: Wagonners' Walk and 2-up, 2-down
Post by: scary_56 on July 13, 2026, 09:30:33 PM
Just wondered if anyone knows where I might find the themes to BBC Radio 2's Wagonners' Walk, the version used around 1980, and the UK TV series 2-up, 2-down.

Many TIA.

Two Up Two Down's theme was sung by Paul Nicholas, and released as a single on RSO, it's also on Top BBC TV Themes vol 2 (I do have that one, but not ripped it yet!)  I think there's a Paul Nicholas Gold CD compilation that's currently available which has it as well.

Waggoners' Walk used a Conroy library track called 'Bees and Honey' by John Snow, I think (and Malcyb will correct me if I'm wrong on this as he knows all about this stuff) the version you're looking for was a special BBC recording conducted by Gordon Langford which I don't think is available anywhere.

And of course, there was the similar sounding THREE Up Two Down - that was a theme written by Ronnie Hazlehurst.

And it was recycled from a Montparnasse 2000 library piece he'd written more than a decade earlier (which is why you can't quiet sing the theme tune to it!)

Excellent username, by the way!
