Title: 2 x A. Riccardo Luciani
Post by: Mr on June 10, 2026, 10:48:02 PM
Inspired by Axxon's beautiful recent shares (https://librarymusicthemes.com/index.php?topic=11669.0), here's two more LPs by A. Riccardo Luciani, freshly ripped!

[RCA Original Cast] SP 10061 - Dal medioevo al rinascimento (1975)

Our first LP is thematically linked and a sort of sequel to "Musica arcaica" found in the post linked above. It features probably Luciani's most well-known piece, "Chanson balladee", which was used as the theme to the long-running TV segment "Almanacco" in Italy - and, as the title suggests, is a collection of compositions with medieval and renaissance-style instrumentation. This one is a personal favourite, it's all well-written and very melodious - and, through its repeitions, tends to get stuck in my head.

[SR Records] SR-SP 128 - Musica poliformale

Our second, is quite the contrast - featuring ambitious works for strings on the A-side, and organ on the B-side. The two opening cues, both over 5 minutes long(!) really demand your attention for full enjoyment. The A-side closer features a beautiful harmonica solo by... John Sebastian, of all people. I wonder how that came about. Was Franco De Gemini out of town?

Enjoy! :)

p.s. Does anyone have a FLAC or good-sounding mp3 copy of "Situazioni" (RCA, SP 10058) to share?
