I have had a good dig around and can't see a thread with these on - and regardless to that these are all new recordings from the old 80's records.
I do have the CD somewhere but can't find the bloody thing. I also have ATMOS 011 - Deeper Mysteries on CD too but they're somewhere in the attic and will surface one day!
Meanwhile, you analoguers won't mind the odd bit of noise here and there on otherwise fairly clean recordings. The records have had a manual clean and then an ultrasonic one so are not digital quality but good in my eyes/ears.
I've had 1-26 on vinyl for years now but buggered if I can find 002 and 007 with so many records around but I will keep looking! Meanwhile to start us off:

I used this track on one of the old Retro-Teque compilations around 2012 I think.

Thanks for this. I’m a fan of the Atmosphere library. Some tracks were used on Channel 4’s test card and appeared in ads etc. Some of the recordings I have aren’t great and a mix of quiet and noisy. So by that I mean overall the musical tracks were recorded low and some suffered with surface noise and the odd skip here and there.
I know you take your time to clean the vinyl before recording which is really appreciated, so I’ll be really happy with your new recordings.

The digital versions are often vastly inferior to the LPs as it appears, they just upped the treble upon digitizing and it does not sound right. Yes, the surface noise might not be there as tonyc mentioned, sometimes the dynamics of a track can suffer from that but so far, I have preferred your LP recordings over the digital re-releases of their catalogue not only because of their strange interfering with the source material - it just sounds right on LP and much better without the euqalizer tempering on their end. . . .
-
That’s encouraging to know. I will work my way through them and keep my fingers crossed that I find the missing pair!
-
It really makes a difference. With a person knowing what to do and cleaning their records or even weighing the stylus you can hear the difference so much compared to what you can license off of the official sources. Bass kicks punch clean and the highs are not suffering. This is ATMOS sound quality exclusive to this forum/you which is fantastic if you think about that. I think I took or replaced all the digital tracks with your's and will snatch all of 'em once again because they are worth a comparison with what I already have.

I have recorded 3-5 but weather was so nice today I’ve been chilling in the garden. I will continue though 😉

I had noticed one of my favorite musicians is on this record! Tracks 2, 8 and 27 all credit Geoff Downes (https://www.discogs.com/artist/275311-Geoff-Downes), the keyboardist originally from The Buggles and later with Yes and currently playing with Asia.
Very cool. Thank you :D

Funny you mention this. I was watching a 1982 TOTP and Ph.d were on with ‘I won’t let you down’ and the guy on keyboards looked familiar. I hadn’t known it was Tony Hymas all of these years but recognised his face from a KPM catalogue. Richard Myhill was also on TOP OF THE POPs with some solo hit he had.

And then Anne Dudley from Art of Noise too of course.

I'm off work for a week so these should come more quickly.

More MPC ready pulsing bass sounds, heavily used in Prisoner C Block H circa 1986 and sampled in 2010 by Mr. Flash

I'm a big fun of your ultrasonic pre-ripping clean, and never minded about minor noises on vinyl rips.
Thanks a lot for these Retro.

You’re always welcome. These aren’t super quiet. I suspect the vinyl was a bit cheaper and these were digitized at the same time of pressing on vinyl I think.

Is there a way to know the release years of these? Since "ever" there are just vague guesses which is a shame. Just out of curiousity, I went to the fandom yesterday and in the listing there are now numbers where question marks used to be, apparently since 2024. However, nowhere else these years could be double-checked. How come that such a big label with real bangers - both tracks and composers - is so obscure about this? I remember Zaptrax might be from 1985 and sometimes you can make a guess but I wonder if there is a way to confirm this list: productionmusic.fandom.com/wiki/List_of_Atmosphere_vinyl_albums
The main pages still list them as "198?". The dude made several hundred changes over some Wikis and I don't think it's a spam or troll but he's inactive since half a year (I messaged him about his knowledge) and I doubt I will get an answer in a timely manner. Also, they are apparently produced up to 1987 (when they switched to CDs) but the last entries say 1986.

Thanks, Retro. These are filling some gaps, and I'm also enjoying the early 80s electro vibes.

As always, thank you mate

I still can't find 002 - Contemporary Pop, but I shared it back in 2023- does anyone have that rip for now?

I have it Retro but am away from my computer at the mo. I can share it in a couple of days’ time if nobody else gets there before me.
-
Cheers. No rush. I might stumble across the LP!
