I stumbled upon this earlier today - a very interesting interview with pianist-composer Enrico Pieranunzi, Bruno Nicolai's daughter Giulia and Edi-Pan engineer Maurizio Refice.

Though primarily about the works and soundtracks of Bruno Nicolai and Fiorenzo Carpi, they also speak quite a bit about what it was like working in soundtrack recording and during the heyday of the Italian film industry, and touch briefly upon library music as well.
