Title: TV Show visit to the Publinter office in 1993
Post by: Bronic on February 20, 2026, 04:25:15 AM
In 1993 Brazilian show Vitrine visited the Publinter (https://productionmusic.fandom.com/wiki/Publinter) office. You can catch a glimpse of their catalog at the time: a Valentino set, some Sonoton and Sound Ideas CDs:

The focus is teaching viewers what a 'sound bank' is and how licensing of SFX and music works in general. The Publinter representative mentions being a decade in the business of importing and licensing tracks and having a retired vinyl collection that gave way to CDs.

At 3:13 he plays the famous elections theme 'Eyewitness News' by Walter Murphy, used to this day.

Additional context and notes:

Very fascinating find Bronic! Seeing the office of a (former) library music distributor and their CD collection is interesting.

Wow! That's very interesting for me to see! ;D

And for me, i heard that Publinter has both lease and buyout production libraries back then.

Additional context and notes:

  • 'ViTrine' was a innovative TV show covering the production of media from comics to TV broadcasting.
  • Publinter was located in São Paulo, where the major Brazilian network stations are established.
  • His CD player was manufactured by one of the cheapest brands if not the cheapest local brand in Brazil.
Really neat little video! Love seeing all the Valentino discs... Also, any idea where the track at 5:03 comes from?

This is a great rarity in the history of library music around the world! It is very difficult to find a video showing an office of a company of this kind and even more from my country.
