Title: A video on Tommy Reilly at the World Harmonica Championships in 1987
Post by: WSBG Returns Yet Again! on January 26, 2026, 12:45:37 AM
Here's an interesting video I found on Vimeo featuring Tommy Reilly. This video shows him at the 1987 World Harmonica Championships in Jersey. Also featured in this video is none other than James Moody (on piano), Tommy Reilly's main co-writer for much of Reilly's library material (Written either under Max Martin or Dwight Barker). Check it out! =)

Excellent - thank you for this!

Tommy Reilly and his son David were also David Holland, who wrote for Chappell - a rare father/son partnership!

Lovely! And I've learned a lot about what to do and not to do when playing the harmonica.

What a great find! A fascinating watch - and an excellent showcase of Reilly's technique and phrasing, he really had a unique way of playing.

For anyone interested I recommend checking out fellow Canadian-turned-Brit Robert Farnon's "Prelude & Dance", a very demanding (but characteristically cheery and melodic) piece composed for and debuted by Reilly.
