Title: Need help identifying music from a railway documentary series
Post by: AlexTheAzure on October 14, 2025, 02:37:18 AM
I might need some help identifying the music tracks used in a 1990s railway documentary, "Railway Adventures Across Europe", that I used to watch as a kid on VHS back in the early 2000s. The series has a total of 30 episodes, and I've been fascinated with the background music ever since.

Here's one of the episodes, "Conquest of the Alps".

MUSIC TIMESTAMPS:
2:15 - "Persevere (60 sec)" - The Music Bakery
3:21 - [???]
4:59 - "Excitement (60 sec)" - The Music Bakery
6:01 - "Light Industrial (60 sec)" - The Music Bakery
7:03 - "Retail/Lifestyles (30 sec)" - The Music Bakery
7:43 - "Tasty Groove (2 min)" - The Music Bakery
9:42 - [???]
13:01 - [???]
14:30 - [???]
15:32 - "Confident (1990) (4 min)" - The Music Bakery (There are two tracks by The Music Bakery, both labelled "Confident". One was released in 1990, the other in 1993.)
18:18 - [???]
20:06 - [???]

So far, five of the libraries used in the series have already been identified as The Music Bakery, Gene Michael Productions (GMP), Fresh Music Library, Musikos/Davenport Music Library, and MUSI-Q.

However, there are still several unidentified tracks that don't appear in any of those libraries, and I hope someone here might recognize them or point me toward other production libraries active between 1989/1990 and 1993, since that seems to be the range for most of the music.

On another note, I also need help identifying this track, which was used twice in the series.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Ah, many thanks for identifying those tracks!

However, I recently found out that several Hollywood Film Music Library (HFML) tracks were shared here back in December 2022, but the links have since expired. I wasn't even aware of the forum at the time, so I unfortunately didn't get a chance to listen to them.

If anyone still has those HFML files or backups from the old uploads, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks so much for sharing those tracks!

However, I noticed one of the HFML tracks was mismatched. No worries, though. I'm just mentioning it here so no one gets mixed up if they're comparing notes.

Also, if you happen to have any more MUSI-Q tracks or HFML tracks, I'd be really interested in checking them out. Really appreciate you taking the time to share!

You mentioned an HFML mismatch. Which one is it? I'll handle it tonight.

It was the track "Sleek and Sassy" that you sent me.

Haha, well, I made a mistake.

They're from the same album, but I picked the wrong track.

I'm re-releasing them for you now.

I'm reissuing for you all the music I mentioned above.

5:35 & 13:03

These two tracks I don't know the source though

I don't know where they came from, but I have reason to believe they came from Musi-Q.

And there's a 90% chance that they're from the album “1ST-08 Volume 11 Classical”.

I hope you'll contact Retro Matic and prove me right.

9:27 = Hollywood Film Music Library

14:40 = Musi-Q

17:37 = Hollywood Film Music Library

18:02 = Hollywood Film Music Library

18:24 = Hollywood Film Music Library

Six tracks.

3:33 &  10:26 I'm not sure where these two pieces of music come from.

But the rest of the music is from ‘The Canary Collection Production Music Library’.

I've compiled the music used in the two videos you mentioned above.

Please note that I've only compiled tracks that I know the source of.
