I had initially brought this up in Moon Monkey's catalogue thread sometime ago - but considering the rarity of something like this, and considering it isn't a true catalogue, I thought it'd only be right to spin this off into its own thread, especially since I'm hoping somebody here who has background in digitzing reels might be able to get ahold of it.

Anyway, this is an extremely rare demonstration reel for the "Globe Music Company" run by Gordon Zahler in the 1970s. I've been thinking about this library ever since the entire library of their sound effects surfaced on tape reel some months back (hopeful those have went to a good home!), but since that was sold, this demonstration tape is seemingly the best shot at getting a taste of just what's in this mysterious library. The tape emphasizes the sound effects portion of the library (and judging from the title, seems to be a parody of old-time cliffhanger serials with a LOT of emphasis on nose!), but I have a good feeling that it might give some insight on the music cues that were showcased on this label as well beyond what ASCAP has listed in its databases. So even if sound effects are out of much of our wheelhouses, I think this is a rare enough find that it's worth preserving somehow.
