The sleeping giant awakes and with a vengeance. Thanks for these new rips Retro. I know what you mean about the boredom factor. But have pity on the rest of us who now have to unarchive every file and sit down and play every single track....... Yippee, I can't wait! :)
-
Enjoy! More tomorrow 🙂

Excellent shares, really appreciate it, thanks a million Retronic. :)

Thanks Retronic, Some nice upgrades for me.

Thank you , Retronic )))
-
Thank you Retro, especially for those Valentino's. New ones and upgrades of great records!
-
I was listening to TJV 6037.
Strangely the first two tracks are exactly the same.
Track 3 is maybe track 2 actually? But in that case the real track 3 is missing..
Gosh, I'm confused.
It can also be the record itself to be "faulty"?
-
It’ll be me. I had quite a tine doing these. Stupidly I did them with Bluetooth headphones and the delay meant all tracks had a gap at the start which i personally can’t stand as I’m often flicking through files looking for something, listening to intros.
I also had the settings on save ‘entire’ file instead of the selected bit so had to re edit it all again. And people think editing records is easy.
I’ll have a check in a minute. I love that ‘Psychedelia’ track after hearing it late 80’s on the Let Me Die A Woman, along with Judgement from 6092.

Track 2 is indeed a repeat of Tracjk 1- it should be 55s long so is missing. I've deleted the unedited file but it'll be on my laptop upstairs so I'll load that track up in a bit.
-
Wow, great sounds - Thanks much!

Thank you so much Retro, for these additions.
And thanks for fixing the 6037.
I know editing could be a tough task, so, I'm kind of imbarassed to say that this last TJV 7068 is really weird.
Almost every track is around half an hour long, and indeed the total size of the zip was almost 2GB.
I could split the tracks but I don't know which is which.
Sorry to bother.
-
I missed that one. They were all like that. Basically it was set to save the whole file so if it’s a 12 track record track one is all 12 tracks, track 2 is tracks 2-12, etc.
I thought I’d fixed them all. I can easily remedy that. It’s a good test for the patience and important to get them right. Cheers for letting me know 🙂

Oh yes, I did Retro.Thank you very much.
But the real surprise for me is that Timing N.2. I'm after lossless copies of Timing n.'s 2-3-4-5 since a decade, I can say. They're surely in my most wanted non-italian list, and I'm so glad to finally get one.
Chapeau!

You are much appreciated Retronic for your continued generousity.
Thanks for all The Capitol records.
I used to use Latin Beads from Bossa Nova - Rock for my first ring tone.

That’s why I love this place: anecdotes like that 😁

Thanks Retro.
I'm particularly happy with the lossless upgrade of the April 31. 70's and early 80's electronics are just a passion of mine.
And happy to have another couple of upgrades on Capitol.

I once put Astrud Gilberto's Non-Stop to Brazil on my answering machine (for some odd reason), and must have forgotten about it, because at a later point I got a call from my doctor, but for some inexplicable reason he did not leave a message!

I really like your new avatar, very cool. 8]
I don't want to be vile with my comment, but Retronic's old avatar was much prettier and more unique. However, the new icon lacks soul and creativity. But I'm not one to dictate what their avatars should look like. But again, I don't want to be too abusive; seeing people overuse AI makes me shudder.

Thanks for all these Media Music uploads Retronic, I’ve been looking for a stereo version of “Soft Jazz/Children Fantasy” for quite a while.
By the way, I found out that “Jazz Walk” is an arrangement of the song “San Remo Nights” from Hi - “Q” Reel X-8. Makes sense since Ib Glindemann and Dan Kirsten are the same man.

Welcome back Greta. Yes, Retro has gone crazy over the last couple of weeks (I'm glad to say!) giving us so many brilliant shares with more to come it seems. That plus Dan's mega-shares elsewhere have been keeping us all very busy. Now at least you know what to do during your convalescence! Get well soon.

Thank you Retro,
CBO 665 is a super upgrade for me, while Conroy 068 and Ecap E10 are totally new.
I knew Moorhouse and it's a pleasant confirmation of what I expected from him in a late 60's album, very groovy.
While Vassilis is a total news to me and a great surprise, I relly dig it.
Cheers!

I'd normally thank members each time they share an album. But you're uploading so many lately Retro that I feel to do so for each share would devalue the message. Instead may I thank you for this weekend's offerings and last weekend's too (which I've only just had the chance to download!). Some gaps filled and lossies upgraded. Excellent.

Good record, and interesting to see that even if Alberto Baldan is not credited for any track here, there's a tune dedicated to him apparently.

Nearly the weekend :) Second weekend with a wedding in a row and been out to Soul nights for last three weekends as well so ready for a quiet weekend next week. Meanwhile I do have WAV files ready to edit which I'll get onto for an hour or so first thing tomorrow | Three Apollo, City Calling on Selected Sound, a Bosworth, a random Sonoton, and my only CAM.
Will also check what next I don't have recorded and do those, so this should take me a few weeks or until I get bored of it.

Thanks Retro, the Bosworth is new to me, and the Studio One is a great upgrade.
"Light And Shadow" by Peter Xanten is such a stunning piece of music. I absolutely love the energy spreaded all over the 2minutes40, with that deep and fat bass, the prog organ and most of all those brilliant bongos.
To be heard at a high volume, possibly with headphones..

Yes, the last track too often has way more noise on the outro

This thread is fantastic. I know I'm very late to the party, but the summer months ends up with me working longer hours and weekends too with big events like the BGP etc etc. I've been keeping my eye on this for some time now with a view to catching up on these albums. Well, a few days off and I'm about there. Feet up tonight and a glass or three of red wine or some ice cold beers may be more fitting in this heat, but I'll be downloading and having a listen to some of these gems, many have been on my wishlist for some time.
As always, BIG thanks for taking the time to rip these and provide links. I'll raise a glass to Retronic tonight !
-
Sounds lovely Tony. I do love the British Summer and have enjoyed many weekends in the garden. I could recorded more but when the suns out I don’t wanna be indoors. I’m glad other people enjoy listening to these as much as I do.

Thanks Retro. Well you certainly can't fault Syd Dale for his marketing skills. These albums appeared under a variety of different labels it seems. I love the fact that they took the trouble to translate some of the titles into French on the first album but appeared to give up on the subsequent ones.
-
I thought the same! ;D
I think they gave up before doing the B-Side
BTW- did you guys see the 2 80's LPs on last page - people may have missed them assuming the Chappell was the latest

Thanks for pointing it out Retro. I did pick up Night Cruisin' (as opposed to Eumir Deodato's album Night Cruiser!) the other day but hadn't had a chance to listen to it yet. I'll be interested to compare the Tim Cross rip with the remastered version I have.

On Vol 3 the second Pan American Popsy should be titled 'Twosone'
-
Back to the normal working life and rhythms lately, and can login and see/grab/post/participate/whatever, during the weekends..
Thanks a lot Retro for the last additions.
Despite these latter Impress Telemusic have been issued under different labels, it's nice to have the original Impress releases, which, for instance, I didn't have.
-
Dear Retronic, thank you very much for all these marvellous shares! This is incredibly magnificent!
Cordiali saluti,

-
On Vol 3 the second Pan American Popsy should be titled 'Twosone'
Worth pointing out that the titles in the tags for Vol 2 are slightly awry, too. You should be guided by the file names for the song titles rather than the tagged title as follows:
Track 02 should be Tinker Bell
Track 03 should be Brocade
Track 5 should be Marching There And Back Again
-
I’ve been waiting for when someone would rip these albums!
Thanks Retro!
-
Thank you Retronic!
I have never come across Impress TM 33.001 before.

-
With that Studio G Pop Spectrum, track B1 is labelled Black Soul on the sleeve and Blue Soul on the label.
Sounds very bluesy to me but the GEMA database has it registered as Black Soul with no alternative title. So Black Soul it is then.
-
Thank you Retro, great rips. MQLP 38 is a super-welcome upgrade for me.
But what is stunning me for the umpteenth time is how the hell is good Philopsis. One of those records I have to go back from time to time.
I must say that French Maestros have reached very high levels in eletronics at the time. Superb.
Oh, I remember the discussion raised by Mr about the mysterious significance of "Philopsis".
Well, maybe the AI solved the problem? It found this for me today:
"Philopsis is the name of a philosophical journal and a digital publishing center for academia". It's site here =>philopsis.fr
It could be, isn't it?
I would exclude the typo for "Phalaenopsis" (a kind of orchid), but who knows...
...
And what about the alias of Marie-Thérèse Helene Chollat Namy (Ode Ronronnière). "Ode" I presume is intended as the lyrical composition cause it's not a a name in any language, and "Ronronnière" litterarly means "purring" (!)
"The purring ode"? Just crazy!
...
And the curiosity for the damn elusive Freesound FS 7/76 keeps growing...
-
MQ48 is sublime thank you
-
... "Ode" I presume is intended as the lyrical composition cause it's not a a name in any language ...
I know someone whose name is "Odo". That's the male version, the female version is "Oda", and "Ode" is the French variant of it.
See https://www.prenoms.com/prenom-fille/ode-4574.
The section about the "Personnalité du prénom Ode" is hilarious!
There also seems to exist a female saint of that name in Belgium: "Sainte Ode est vénérée à Amay, diocèse de Liège" ...
-
Just be aware that there's a hiccup with the meta data on Retro's upload of Philopsis as follows:
Usine Inhumaine.flac - tag title should be Usine Inhumaine and not Agartha and track number should be 7
Steel Mongoes.flac - track number should be 8
Screw On.flac - track number should be 9
Fluid Man.flac - trackk number should be 10
Acid Feerique.flac - track number should be 11; and
Philopsis.flac - track number should be 12
-
....oh, and similarly the meta data for [Tele Music] TM 33.002:
Doux Ombrages.flac - should be track 8 and tag title changed to Doux Ombrages
Impasse de Minuit.flac - should be track 10
Pop Sophistication.flac - should be track 12; tag title changed to Pop Sophistication
Sorcelleries.flac - should be track 11; and
Travail Et Tristesse.flac - should be track 9
-
I need to not rush these so much!!! ☺️
-
I need to not rush these so much!!! ☺️
Not a problem Retro. We all know how much work is required to rip, edit and tag these albums. And, by my count, you have managed to rip and share 115 albums since this topic started just over 9 weeks ago. That's around a dozen each week. And I think we're all agreed that the quality is superb. ;)
-
Really! I hadn’t realised. I’m still working through the Weekend Set spreadsheet recording any LP I used on those videos and I’ve gotten to P, working through CAT numbers alphabetically. So have all the Parry, Sonoton, Selected Sound etc still to come.

Good morning Retro and thanks for these. I'm especially drawn to the Ronnie Hazlehurst album Ben The Big One. If I didn't know better I'd say some of the tracks sound much like those associated with the other Ben with an extra "n", Mr Benn. But that music was composed by Duncan Lamont I think.

A while back you posted Sing Me a Song by Soft Slipper. You had inadvertently recorded it as 24/32.0kHz, instead of your normal 16/44.1
Regardless, it appears to be gone now from the forum. Would you mind recording it again as 16/44?
Thanks in advance!

Thanks! But it appears you have the "incomplete" recording that is so prevalent on SoulSeek, with added song #1 "Stonehenge" being a 128 or 160kbps :(

You’re right, dagnabit (to quote Deputy Dawg)! But as I don’t do SLSK I can only have got my copy from this forum. In which case I expect it may well have been that shared by Retro here https://librarymusicthemes.com/index.php?topic=535.msg45506#msg45506 and which I presume you’re referring to in your original post? The MediaFire link is still live by the way. I’m not at my computer at the mo so can’t verify the contents of that share.

If you're referring to the posts about DWLP 3200 above then I don't think that's the case Retro. There are 27 tracks in the archive. 14 of them are un-tagged tracks and are as listed at Discogs are there though, as AfricPepperbird says, they are at 24bit/32kHz which suggests they might not be your rip as you usually rip at 16bit/44.1kHz. I've run the un-tagged files through Lossless Audio checker but it didn't identify any of them as upscaled. I have taken down the link to my share of the album since your MediaFire link (see my post above) is still live and contains the two versions of the tracks. The tagged files in the archive appear to be genuine FLACs but lacking track 1, again, as AfricPepperbird said. So all we need is a true FLAC version of track 1 Stonehenge I think?
-
Big thanks Retro! I'm really looking forward to recording your copies on my cassette mixtapes.

Thanks Retronic for the Studio One recordings!
Do you happen to have the following two?....
S.O.4 - The Rudi Risavy Orchestra
S.O.5 - The Helmuth Brandenburg Orchestra/The Magic Strings conducted by Norman Candler
Thanks for your consideration.
-
Sweet. Thanks a lot Retro.
What a timing, right yesterday I was digging a bit more the Regency Line releases to see which ones exactly hadn't been re-issued by Bruton or ECAP and it turned out that one that I couldn't have listened to was "Patterns In Rhythm" you just shared.
Red Bus 107 and Studio One 6 are great upgrades to me.

I have N.5 in lossless but not n.4.
I'm on the way to upload it.
