Recommending channel 11db11 :)
« on: July 27, 2023, 06:22:47 AM »
Hello, everyone. I recently discovered a YouTube channel where he uploads library music compilations and the truth is that it is a blessing. I will leave you the link of one of his playlists so that you can listen to some of his compilations. It has everything: Chappell, Sonoton, Patchwork, KPM, April Orchestra, Bruton Music, CAM, Montparnasse 2000, Neuilly, De Wolfe Music, etc. The problem and this worries me is that some of these videos are blocked by copyright. I have tried to find out if I can somehow download YouTube videos in FLAC format that are blocked by copyright, but to no avail. But anyway, at least the rest can be heard.

That's a hell of a channel indeed.

Great attention to details, I love how each track comes with its artfully edited cover art.

Thanks for pointing this out danimin.

This sort of rings a bell. Back in 2020 a member posted referring to a "Great Youtube Channel" and shared all the songs they had downloaded and edited as individual tracks. Unfortunately I didn't keep a note of who it was. Nor have I found the post via Search. Whether it's the same YT channel I don't know.

One point, though, @danimin I'm pretty sure YouTube streams their video and audio in compressed format. The best quality audio you'd get would be in MP3 lossy. So even though there are apps out there claiming to be able to convert YT audio to FLAC you would end up creating a false/fake FLAC file and risk rousing the ire of the perfectionist members of this forum.

I already understand what you say. In any case, the music that I download in "FLAC", at some point I noticed that I was hearing how the audio quality was lost in some of the songs, turning it into a false FLAC and that made me angry. But I convert it to that format so that the CD can be read better, because in MP3 my stereo does not recognize the CD. I always use WAV or FLAC to make a recording, even if it's fake, it's from my collection. If the occasion arises and I send things from my collection, they will be in MP3. Thanks for your comment Nidostar.

I've used this channel on and off for a while.  It's particularly nice to have the cover art on and play full screen on my media pc to my tv.  As others have mentioned, YT doesn't handle lossless audio files.  That said, this is a great way to 'audition' some of the albums to see if you like them and obtain elsewhere.

However, this is my fave channel on YT for library music.  THis channel shows the full album art and full albums.

The channel is good for what it is but the lack of variety in the chosen tracks gives the impression that library music is made just of 70s funky grooves made to suit cop dramas or porn films.
