Hence I had hesitated to take up your offer earlier to share. But it is actually a very listenable album featuring flute and guitar solos. That said it does feel slightly out of character from ME releases of the day. I tried holding the FLAC files up to the light but couldn't see any turquoise colour....!!

I was delighted to find while I was transferring this that my copy is pressed on vinyl that goes a lovely turquoise colour when you hold it up to the light - it must be a Pye Records/Tranco pressing!

General Discussion / Re: Sophisticated Harmony: The lives and music of six great British arrangers
« Last post by Lord Thames on May 19, 2025, 09:19:12 PM »Sold!!!!
Fantastic to see Anthony Isaac getting some attention in particular, as so little's been written about him and he died far too young - very much looking forward to this!

« Last post by nidostar on May 19, 2025, 08:00:39 PM »Thank you for bringing your latest book to our attention Oliver. I have just ordered a copy!
And what a coincidence. I'm currently reading The Mood Modern having bought it from the Dutton Vocalion site earlier this year. It's packed full of fascinating information about the development of production music libraries. Being one of the more senior members of this forum the coverage of KPM in the 60s especially came to life for me. I'd certainly recommend the book to members of this forum.

General Discussion / Sophisticated Harmony: The lives and music of six great British arrangers
« Last post by Bruton Music on May 19, 2025, 06:58:15 PM »Please forgive this bit of conspicuous self-promotion, but since so many people on the board have said such nice things about my book The Mood Modern, I’d like to mention that I have a new book coming out shortly.
It’s called Sophisticated Harmony, and it’s about the lives and music of six great British arrangers: Ronnie Hazlehurst, Trevor Bastow, Dick Doerschuk, Anthony Isaac, Peter Knight, and Steve Gray. (Admittedly, Dick Doerschuk was American by birth, but he spent more than 20 years in London arranging for TV and radio. He also contributed a clutch of superb compositions to the KPM and Amphonic libraries.) The accent here is largely on commissioned television music – especially for the BBC’s prodigious light entertainment output of the 1960s, ’70s, and ’80s – but the book also takes in music for radio, documentaries, and libraries, as well as commercial albums and singles.
Most of the reference to library music occurs in the chapters on Trevor Bastow and Steve Gray, while Trevor’s chapter chronicles the decline of ATV Music, the subsequent sale of Bruton, and the story behind Music House’s formation. And there's a lovely Foreword by Dick Walter – a name that’ll be familiar to many of you.
I hope the above sounds interesting, and my thanks again to those of you who’ve supported The Mood Modern.

As to that last track from FC-A8, I feel like a fool -- this is an album that I've downloaded at some point previously, but the version I have has the "Reel Action" track duplicated as "Reel 1 Highlights", which is what THIS track is. (I believe that my download was from YouTube.) So this identifies that track for me AND solves that mystery!
@ChunYinZi, thanks once again for your help and your efforts!
And ... at least I got two out of my three guesses right!

Also, I have one other unidentified track that sounds to me like it might be a Josef Weinberger/JW Music track, possibly a Derek Stanley Austin composition, due to the orchestration and keyboard playing at the end of the track:

I may be completely wrong on this, however!
Ok, I'll upload the full FC-A33 for you (but I only own the mp3)
BTW This music is also from FirstCom, from the FC-A8, also a discontinued album
So I'll give you both albums at the same time.

Okay, I just noticed.
I have the FC-A33 on WAV.
I saw the CD in Beijing last year and digitized it. But I've been storing it on my portable hard drive, not on my computer.
Also, the FC-A8 is available in flac format on Musrc.com.
