Audio fingerprinting simplified?
« on: September 22, 2023, 05:03:35 AM »
Recently I've gone through old posts trying to find remnants of the posts about audio fingerprinting, and looking at all the steps I have to ask: Is there any type out there that doesn't need Python to run? I don't understand Python at all, nor can I get it to run with the latest versions of Mitin's fingerprinter on GitHub. To make matters worse, the online version of the fingerprinter seems to be dead now.

Anyone have any solutions for this?

This is what I did:

1. Download and install Python 3.10.2 (Later versions may work but I haven't tried them) https://www.python.org/downloads/windows/
Make sure that "Add Python to PATH" is checked when installing.

2. Download and install the latest version of audfprint-gui https://github.com/mitin001/audfprint-gui/releases/tag/v2.5.0 (If you have it installed already uninstall and reinstall it)

3. Download any fingerprint databases and import them to audfprint-gui
