BRI17 Eklektikos in digital
« on: September 08, 2023, 12:56:19 PM »
Does anyone know if Trevor Duncan's excellent album "Eklektikos" is available as a digital download?

I have two vinyl rips on my system from different uploaders, but both suffer from some distortion, especially on the track "Science Museum". It's possible that some of these tracks did not press very well to vinyl due to the high frequencies from the synthesiser.

Thank you OrganGrinder for your upload. I hope you don't mind, but I need to ask, was this a vinyl rip or was it sourced from a digital library? The bit rate is 1411k and some of the tracks, notably "Science Museum" still have some fairly severe distortion.

As far as I'm aware, all the downloadable albums are 1536k. I wondered if it was available via APM Or some similar on line source.

Here is my rip of the album. It's been a long time since I listened to it,
so I don't remember whether it's clean all the way, but I checked "Science Museum". It has one pop near the end
and one slight distortion (both can be fixed.) The synthesizer on that particular track has a sound that can easily
be mistaken for distortion if the rip or the listening equipment have faults.

It's in one file (wave):
