Cinemusic Archival series (Lossless)
« on: March 01, 2018, 10:01:26 AM »

The Cinemusic Archival series is the first time Jack Shaindlins' music has been offered as production music! Who is Jack Shaindlin? Well if you asked Superman, The Cisco Kid or even Rin Tin Tin, they'd tell you that they wouldn't work without him. Jack began composing, conducting and arranging background tracks for Newsreels in 1942 and went on to produce some of the most memorable music in Show Business. Tracks featured include authentic cues from shows like Quick Draw McGraw, Superman, Topper, Father Knows Best and many early Hanna-Barbera cartoons. This is an exciting source of genuine archive soundtracks from classic American television series of the 40’s and 50’s.

I’m curious as to whether these tracks have been released before on the Cinemusic LPs.

The liner notes don’t seem to indicate correlation with CMR catalog numbers, though it’s not unexpected. Have the track names been changed?

I’d love to track down “Verve” if it exists under a different name.

Yes, some of these tracks were indeed released on Cinemusic LP's. "Missing Lynx", "Pixie Pranks" and "Who, Me?" were released on CMR 312, "Zoo Doings" on CMR 410, "Posse" on CMR 305, "College Sports #1" on CMR 317, and apparently "I'm Tickled Pink" on CMR 406. "Cock and Bull Story" was released on CMR 212 as "Crazy Cat". There's a good possibility there are other tracks on these CD's are indeed retitled... ("Grotesque #2" is apparently also known as "The Reluctant Elephant".)

These look great. I dig the covers. Cinemusic is a fun label. Thanks, BWP!

One of my favorites too!

Looks like Cinemusic used vintage images for their front covers of vintage music. A nice touch :)

Thanks for sharing this collection, Blackwatch!

I've downloaded the first album in this series and it's great! I'm a big fan of the library music of the 40's and 50's, especially the cues used in the old radio shows.
