The album is pretty cool but it sounded weird, almost a bit "hurting my ears" like in the track DRUMKIT - until I noticed the 16(.5) kHz cut-off.
Maybe the ripper from the disk choose the AAC encoder with a wrong setting or it's upscaled?

I wouldn't blame the ripper but the studio people.
