Wouldn't we all!  One of my favourite tapes.

Unfortunately, it's the Author’s Agency Of Poland Orchestra tracks that are seemingly missing in lossless quality.

Yes, John can post your audio source? In the forum, will anyone else have this TEST CARD besides you?

Out of all the Polish tracks, I've only found one other apart from, 'Evening Close', with it's original title and artist.  That being track 5 from this tape.  I think discovery of the GAD Records label could possibly help in discovering the true identities of some of these unknown tracks.

The original title of Track 1 is 'Kung Fu Try' - it, and track three, are by Orkiestra Rozrywkowa PRiTV W Katowicach, the orchestra of Polish Radio and Television in Katowice.

Track 4 is a suite of music from the Polish TV series Szaleństwo Majki Skowron, peformed by the Symphony Orchestra of Polish Radio and Television in Katowice, conducted by Konrada Bryzka.

Most of tracks from section one were released on a BBC Radioplay Sigs and Sessions LP, SNS 043 - I've seen a copy real life, so it exists, but as for getting hold of one.....

Thanks for that information, Lord Thames.  It's not surprising that the BBC used one of their own Radioplay albums as the source for these tracks.  It's something they did a lot of at the time.  And, as you say, they're exceeding difficult to get hold off, even in digital form.

I've been meaning to ask about this for a while.  Despite having spent time looking for the title track under the name of, 'Kung Fu Try', and any tune associated with Orkiestra Rozrywkowa PRiTV W Katowicach, I've never been able to come up with them.  I was just wondering whether the actual album title which it's on is known?  It would save a bit of time, going round in circles and coming back with nothing.  I did recently find, 'Water Mountain', 'Shadow Line', and, 'Warsaw Reverie', in lossless, which helps with this tape as well as the self-titled one.  But, 'Kung Flute', and, 'Walking My Baby Back Home', still evade me.

Any further information would be appreciated.

I doubt it as the tracks are proving elusive to track down.  Even as a member of TCC, they have it but only as an off-air recording which is what you hear on that YT video, so to my knowledge as the tracks are missing, nobody will have the full tape in better quality.  That's all I have for that compilation too, just an off-air recording.  Sorry Testcard.

The clip at the top of this topic has the tape in mono, I believe, so it most likely did come from an off-air recording.  I was given this tape during my time with the TCC, way back when, and still have it as a stereo recording.  The only explanation, as far as I'm able to tell, was that it came from the tape used by the BBC, which as we all know had a track listing that isn't quite as accurate as we'd like it to be, in that some of the tracks within were attributed generically rather than specific to the point where they can be traced.  The only other helpful source would be the BBC Radioplay Sigs and Sessions LP mentioned.  However, that particular one isn't listed on Discogs, so there's no way of knowing the track names or who they're attributed to, unless the album shows up somewhere.  So, the only way to find them is to look for their original sources.  The tracks in question all being Polish puts an added complication onto things.  Some have shown up on compilation CDs, which helps, but there's still some that are as elusive as ever to find the actual names of.
