KPM LP just featured on The Gadget Show (UK)!
« on: May 06, 2018, 06:25:12 PM »
Very bizarre. The Gadget Show on Channel 5 showcased a Kickstarter turntable that levitates/ hovers. Anyway the LP they used was KPM 1077 “Progressive Pop”!  They needle dropped a few tracks, Craig Charles had a boogie to Beat Me Til I’m Blue (and Ortis commented ‘I think I’ve seen this movie’- or, porn).
Strange to see something familiar in a modern show.

Is "Beat Me Til I'm Blue" a hidden track on KPM 1077? I'm not familiar with that one.

No.  Be fit the name wrong. Posted on my phone in a rush.  Something similarly funky it must have been.

Cool! Had to check this out. It's like that drum-playing monkey with a B&H in the background; not only a library LP in view, but also a levitating turntable! They do show up in spectacular places.
I could hear "Exclusive Blend", "Beat Me 'til I'm Blue" and "Roving Reporter" - though the RPM seems to quite a bit off. That'd be KPM 1044, but the sleeve seems to be wrong, it's for "Progressive Pop", as you noted:

I wonder if Channel 5 still has these lying around, or if it's from someone's private collection?

Eeshh, Going by that screenshot, that mag-lev arm looks very wrongly set up.

Edit, okay watched it now. Nice to see a KPM at least. Awful turntable tho.
