I've been digging A. Baldan Bembo lately. He composed so many great tunes and his records are often amongst the coolest ones around.
There are so many I still have to listen, but that's another story...
Here I want you to listen to this piece of music.
It's called "Kamasutra" and it's taken from "Codice D'Amore Orientale", a movie soundtrack edited by Joker in 1974.
Just in case someone wants to hear the whole album, just give me a shout and I'll post it.
Here is the killer track. Don't you think Prodigy might got inspired by it?
-
Oh yes! Firestarter! This is blatant!
So amazing this track dates from 1974!
Rip Keith Flint...
Thanks for your offer Greta! I would gladly listen to the album ;)

Good catch - & def agree. I can't even count the times that I've heard a library track for the first time & said to myself- "Aha- now we know where that one came from…"

The Firestata!!!!!
-
Hahaha, yeah, Firestata!!
Quite odd, it would be easier to imagine The Prodigy didn't even know who the hell was Baldan Bembo... and perhaps they really didn't, who knows...

Originaly composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber
It's the theme of Jesus Christ, Superstar (1970)
There's plenty version of this track
Nick Ingman made a version of it in 1971 :

Wow, couldn't imagine that.
Well, I never been to much in to musicals, so I wasn't aware..
Thanks for the info Sub.
-
Same here re musicals, but now you got me into it!

Check out S.O.S. by The Breeders if you want to hear the actual Firestarter sample. I sampled it many years ago, when the Breeders LP first came out, and was initially gutted that The Prodigy used it, but they used it so well, so I kind of had a word with myself and quickly got over it lol
-
Thank you! I am having a blast today re-listening to the Breeders' album, and the Prodigy's. At the time I wasn't paying much attention to production, let alone samples, and not listening to the lyrics either tbh:)

Fantastic sound, Greta!
"Just in case someone wants to hear the whole album, just give me a shout and I'll post it."
I would like to hear the whole album!
Especially since my country (Brazil) is on fire!!!!
Good citizens, women, children fighting against criminals from the judiciary allied with corrupt politicians.
Nothing better than relaxing a little before the powder starts to explode against the corrupt bastards of the New World Order

Thanks a lot Greta! Awesome soundtrack indeed!
Great guitar parts!
I particularly dig "Nude love" and "Hayng and Yutia" with its great wordless vocals!
-
Thanks Greta, I didn't have this one. My sampler is happy!! :)
