Would it be possible to reupload any of the rest of these, please?  I missed them at the time and I'm after some Devega albums for some research I'm doing.

+1
English is not my mother tongue, so there are often mistakes in writing. Please forgive me. I will try to improve.

(Remove blanks -- but not the underscores -- and replace @ by the obvious.)

Contents:

(1) Kurt Kümpel '4 Flutes' and his Combo [Devega DVG-STL 7614] 4 Flutes in Rio / Swing Cocktail

(2) Claude Larson [Devega DVG-STL 8223] Pictures from Etruria

(3) VC-People [Jupiter 6.24647 AP] Mystery of Bomarzo

The last two records are the same. There is a bit of a mystery here: both rips are unlistenable, and a proper one does not seem to exist. They're completely distorted in the same way, but they are still different rips. I cannot think of a realistic way that this may have come about. Can you?

I recall you expressing your dissatisfaction with the rip of Mystery Of Bomarzo last year (https://librarymusicthemes.com/index.php?topic=2977.msg45684#msg45684). I didn't have the Devega release until now to compare. Certainly when, for example, comparing the 30 second point of track 3 of Pictures From Etruria with the corresponding point of track 3 of Mystery Of Bomarzo the former is definitely an inferior and fuzzy sounding rip. Almost as if it's been ripped with a dirty stylus. Bomarzo is certainly a much better quality rip than Etruria. Apart from slight sibilance on the vocals the instrumentals on Bomarzo seem quite clear and sharp to me. Though I wonder to what extent the Etruria rip might be colouring my judgement of Bomarzo?

Unless I'm mistaken I think it was oliverino who shared the Mystery Of Bomarzo album in the thread I mentioned above. Maybe he can shed further light on the origins of the rip.

I recall you expressing your dissatisfaction with the rip of Mystery Of Bomarzo last year [...]

Hi nidostar! I think I know what happened, my bad. I compared the sound of the Etruria rip with itself, believing the comparison was with the other one. I briefly wondered whether the Bomarzo rip had really been this bad, but I was in a bit of a hurry. I did compare the correct spectrals, and this is how I ended up with the "mystery" of two different rips sounding equally distorted.

While the Bomarzo rip does not sound good it is nowhere near as bad as the Etruria rip. As you suggest, the latter was probably produced using a pick-up with a very dusty needle.

I assume that severe de-noising was applied to the Bomarzo rip, producing a flat, dense and grating sound. But it's not distorted in the way the other rip is.

So, everyone please ignore the Larson/VC-People stuff and just retain the Kümpel rip if you want it.

Cheerio!

If someone could post the entirely of the Romain Domani in lossless, I'd appreciate it! There are a few on soulseek, but track #8 ("Hey, hey, hey") is corrupt and only 25 seconds or so long.

Thanks in advance!
