Adaptive Streaming Stops The Easy Download
« on: May 07, 2025, 11:23:40 PM »
A number of production library websites are refreshing their sites using adaptive streaming technology. Whilst it still allows auditioning of music, saving or downloading is no longer as easy as getting the mp3 file.

There’s more on adaptive streaming and the tech behind it online and no doubt it’s being used as a weapon to disrupt cloning of material by AI (artificial intelligence) , something that’s keeping rights owners awake at night. Like all tech, it makes things  difficult however, it’s unlikely to stop ripping of music. DRM (digital rights management) , is an additional tool.

Upfront music and more recently Warner have introduced adaptive streaming with others to follow.
